If you're talking about the scenery of these isles, it's easy to bang on a bit about beautiful beaches, commanding coastlines and world-class wonders – but that’s be-cause hols in the UK/Ireland just are not complete without a sometime stay on the cracking Antrim coast in Northern Ireland, home to the fabled Giant’s Causeway, scenery to make your eyes water and a pint of the black stuff properly poured.
Causeway Coast Holiday Park is slap bang in the middle of it all, on a mature 28-acre park with spectacular views over Ballycastle bay, the cliffs of Fairhead and puffin-filled Rathlin Island to the north.
It’s less than a mile to the Ballycastle sands, and five and 10 miles respectively to two of Northern Ireland’s best-known attractions, bouncing around on the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and stepping around on the World Heritage Site of Giant’s Causeway. (Naturally you should know too that another top Northern Irish tourist attraction, the Old Bushmill Distillery, is also within a 15-minute drive…)
Causeway Coast is set up so guests can have a lazy family day on site or relax after a day of hiking the Ulster Way/Causeway coast or scrambling around the Glens of Antrim: facilities include a heated indoor pool with slide; amusements; a pool table and an outdoor play area.
Amenities include free heated showers, a launderette, covered dishwashing area and fresh water points.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.

Causeway Coast Holiday Park is located at 21 Clare Road, Ballycastle, County Antrim.
Ireland’s only World Heritage Site the Giant’s Causeway is the most visited tourist attraction in Northern Ireland and since 2012 has had a spanking new visitor centre. Parking charges at the centre are per adult rather than per car, so many visitors choose to park at the nearby Giant's Causeway Railway car park costing £6 per day; as admission to the stones is free and a bus covers the short journey from the visitor centre to them for around £1 per person.
The beach at Ballycastle is less than a mile away and backs onto the Ballycastle Golf Course for most of its length; dogs are allowed on the beach at all times.
From Ballycastle marina, take the six-mile ferry trip to the tiny RSPB reserve of Rathlin Island to see puffins, fulmars, buzzards and guillemots; you’ll spot seals easily too as soon as you step off the ferry. Food on the island is available at the Manor House hotel and the island pub, both within a minute of the pier.
The beaches of Portrush and Portstewart, the most visited along the north coast, are within about 15 miles and well worth seeing for the mile-long peninsula of Portrush and the sand dunes of Portstewart. Barry’s Amusements and The Arcadia, with art gallery, café and classes in yoga and Pilates, are at the former; golfers will also find the Royal Portrush Golf Club here, which has hosted both the British and the Irish Opens. Visitors (adhering to the club’s dress code) are welcome.
Around 3,000 acres of nearby Glenariff, the biggest and most popular of the nine Antrim glens, are covered by Glenariff Forest Park: take a picnic and explore the woodland trails and the Waterfall Walkway, three miles passing through a national nature reserve and alongside three waterfalls. A visitor centre with shop and exhibition is open from Easter to October.
Further afield, it’s around an hour by car from Ballycastle to Belfast (the coastal bus is scenic but takes a good bit longer) to see attractions such as the Titanic Museum, shop at Victoria Square or St George’s Market, or join the locals on a sunny day with a picnic at City Hall.
For more shopping and urban sightseeing, the large town of Coleraine, home of the Riverside Theatre, is about half an hour from the site, and Derry, ‘Northern Ireland’s second capital’, within about an hour and a quarter.
