Skate ramp at the wave

  • Relaxed, family-friendly site next to The Wave surfing lake in Bristol
  • Bristol Zoo Project 10 minutes’ drive and Aerospace Bristol 15 minutes
  • Clubhouse with bar, café and surfing shop; skate ramp and play park
Turn your surfing session into an overnight adventure when you book a stay at The Wave, a fabulous pop-up site located a mere 200 metres from the surfing lake. There’s plenty here for everyone to do, whether you’re with friends and family or striking out alone; master the waves with a surf lesson, soak up the vibe at the skate ramp or take the kids to the play park before settling down for the night right next door. The surf is pumping at The Wave every day from early in the morning, and a stay here puts you in pole position mere metres from the shoreline. You can wake up to the sound of the waves and be catching them within minutes – and after a day on the water, head to the lively Clubhouse for delicious local food and a front-row seat to the antics on the lake. The Clubhouse’s café is open from post dawn-patrol breakfasts right the way through the day, until the last bite of pizza after a sunset session in the evening. And if you’ve forgotten any gear, never fear, as you can pick up all the essentials in the surf shop, from boards to equipment, clothes and souvenirs. The surfing may well be the focus here, but you'll also be well placed for other activities should you want them – ice skating, zorbing and climbing the masts at SS Great Britain perhaps, or gentler times visiting Bristol Zoo Project and Aerospace Bristol.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Close to the wave for activities

Disliked I didn’t like that you couldn’t cook anything with barbecue and also going with the car to
The campsite , in the humps are quite high so our car got stuck under and scratched so it was very challenging to go out anytime because of these

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Great place to stay. Lovely setting to be near the waves. Facilities are great!

Disliked Only complaints, the speed bumps to get in are way too violent for a car full of stuff, they need to be more gentle. The grass was spiky in places and the rule for no cooking is a pain. Other than that though am very happy.
