What customers say
This campsite offers a peaceful, back-to-basics wild camping experience with beautifully secluded woodland pitches. Visitors praise the helpful and friendly owner, Henry, and the spacious, private sites. Basic but clean compost toilets and cold showers are available. While some pitches are affected by road noise, many find the natural surroundings and freedom of choice highly enjoyable, with a pleasant walk to a local pub. It's considered excellent value for money.

Amazing campsite with clean facilities, great for an escape to nature
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Beautiful and amazing campsite. Have been coming here the last few years and we love it.
Lots of wildlife and is a great star gazing spot.
Facilities are kept clean and the campsite owner is lovely and helpful. The campsite is in a great location and its easy 15 minute drive to get to a cute little town thats fun to explore and has a tesco and a lidl.
Theres a really lovely pub thats in walking distance and some other beautiful trails around to explore. There’s a lovely walk to a cute waterfall on ‘all trails’. It’s a lovely way to spend a day.
Disliked I would not recommended staying at pitch 6. Although it seems like a lovely quiet pitch in a secluded spot with path at the back to easily get onto the public footpath, the campsites neighbour is a nutcase and hangs out about 5 metres away at all times chopping wood. The neighbour is super rude and hostile and has a habit of screaming and smashing things very late a night until early in the morning. He ran up to us while we were walking back from a hike, we had grabbed some small dead sticks to get a fire started. The neighbour then berated us and told us we were stupid for thinking we could keep a fire going with that and started to try sell us his own firewood, when we politely declined, he got very rude. The neighbour also leaves his little black dog to roam and there was multiple times where the dog raided our camp for food and urinated on our belongings.
Obviously there is nothing anyone can do about this and this is not a knock at the campsite at all, this is just a warning not to stay at towards that side of the campsite.

From the manager: Thank you for your review! whilst we are happy to read you think the campsite is amazing, we are really disappointed to also discover you had such negative interactions with someone who lives in the proximity of the campsite. We will investigate this matter thoroughly, and hopefully at least be able to provide you with an apology from the person in question.

Liked Wild camping, lovely to have our own little woodland pitch and fire pit. Teenage boys particularly enjoyed air rifle shooting, foraging was also interesting. I was the only one to brave the cold showers though.

Liked Really nice and peaceful place. Allowed campfires and disposable BBQs. Around 20-30 minute drive to both bath and Bristol which is perfect.
Disliked The showers are quite open to everyone so put me off in having one or had to go at very specific times when no one is around

Great wild camping spot with toilets
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Wild camping with toilets and cold shower
Quiet pitches
Good spacing between pitches
Friendly host
Lovely pub short walk away
Even the road being somewhat near by, I live in a sleepy village and it never bothered us or interrupted any sleep for us. We stayed for over a week and didn't want to leave. Henry the owner was very accommodating and even allowed us to stay an extra day at short notice.
Disliked Nothing comes to mind.

Ok, but not great. Cheap & near. WilI look further afield next time.
Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Felt wild’ish & pretty woods once we found them. Decent fire pits and log seats etc.
Disliked Main road v noisy & close.
Despite the 11pm quiet rule, the neighboring field were raving until 1am.
Not that easy to navigate around the site as a first time visitor.

From the manager: We are saddened to read you didn't have a great stay with us Paul! Due the campsites wild-ish nature it can be quite an adventure trying to find a pitch or area that suits, but we do provide a map upon booking and there is one on display in the main car park. Thankfully its rare, but if we are ever notified of excessive noise by other campers we always act swiftly to deal with it, and are based on site 24/7 to do so.
