  • Family-run farm with 40 acres of space in the Wiltshire countryside
  • Westonbirt Arboretum 15 minutes' drive; Bath city centre 40 minutes
  • Gorgeous rural views 15 minutes' walk from Malmesbury town centre
The Weaver family have been living at Wiltshire’s Whychurch Farm since 1899 – and even a quick look at the pics should give you a few clues as to why they’d want to hang around in the same spot for such a long time. What was once a dairy and beef farm has now diversified to welcome guests to stay in a fenced-off top corner of a 40-acre field called The Worthies. Although the farm doesn’t have its own cattle any more, a local farmer grazes his cows on the fields – so you’ll be able to watch them going about their lives while you’re sitting out soaking up the views and fresh air (and you might catch a glimpse of the roe deer that live here too…). The countryside atmosphere is obviously a huge draw for this place – but in fact, so is the proximity of handy town amenities. Despite the thoroughly rural views, it’s only a short 15-minute stroll to Malmesbury town centre for shops, pubs and places to eat. There’s easy access to the M4 from here too, so journeys in and out are straightforward (as are day trips to places like Bath, Westonbirt Arboretum and the Cotswolds). This is a rural site so you can expect gorgeous sunsets and stargazing. Sensor lights are set up all around the site to help you find your way after dark, but it’s a good idea to pack a torch anyway – and you’re welcome to bring a barbecue or firepit too (although you’ll not be able to use them on windy days because of the fire risk posed by nearby straw and hay barns).

What customers say

This peaceful, small farm site is praised for its excellent value, cleanliness, and beautiful location offering lovely views and easy access to Malmesbury. Visitors highlight the well-maintained facilities, including a useful kitchen area, and the spacious, level pitches. While most found the single shower and toilet sufficient, some noted it could be challenging during busy periods. The friendly and helpful owner consistently receives positive feedback.

Camping pod

Liked Great value with everything you need for a short break. I stayed in the pods and had a great nights sleep. Toilet, shower and kitchen facilities within 10 yards and all spotlessly clean. Only a short walk into town. Would highly recommend and I will definitely book again.

Camping pod

Liked Good toilet and shower facility. Kitchen also available with fridges, sink and freezers for use.
Comfortable end and cosy cabin, with tea and coffee making facilities inside the cabin.

Disliked Unfortunately our door to the cabin did not lock, but as it was a campsite and if we were in a tent we wouldn’t have a lock we weren’t too concerned! However I know this might out off other people.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Absolutely perfect! Beautiful spot, so peaceful. Very easy 10 minute walk into town in any direction along river, road or fields. Shower and toilet spotless, nice touch to be able to use the fridge freezer and kitchen facilities. Very spacious pitch, nice and level, grass kept very well. Stayed for a couple of nights with our greyhound, will definitely come again! Friendly welcome and we were very lucky with the weather, but even if the sun wasn’t shining we would have had a great time
