  • Pop-up site at a Wiltshire farm on the outskirts of Bradford-upon-Avon
  • Kennet and Avon Canal 10 minutes’ walk and Longleat 20 minutes’ drive
  • Animal encounters and farm produce available; opposite a pub
Set on a family farm on the outskirts of Wiltshire’s historic town of Bradford-upon-Avon, Southview Farm Meadow is a pop-up site with pitches mown into an open field. Although it is off-grid, basic creature comforts are offered in the form of a mobile toilet and gas-powered shower; portable loos are available in high season and firepits are available for hire when the ground is not tinder-dry. You can buy farm-produced goats’ milk and cheese, sparkling elderflower cordial and cider from the owners, and meet-and-greet the resident animals. The goats are milked daily at 6.30am and 6.30pm if you fancy trying your hand, while other cuddly characters on-site include rabbits, free-range runner ducks and chickens. As the land is alive with wildlife, keep your eyes open for buzzards, red kites and kestrels circling overhead. There’s a grass recreation area for football and other ball games, and you have easy access to the Kennet and Avon Canal (10 minutes’ walk) for paddleboarding and canoeing. It’s 10 minutes’ walk along the canal path to the nearest supermarket, and there are several pubs about the same distance away, as well as restaurants in the town centre. The bus stop at the end of the drive takes you into Bradford in less than five minutes, or on to historic Bath in 20 minutes.

Bell tent

Liked Lovely pop up site. Great location.
Very friendly and helpful owners.
We stayed in the bell tent which was comfortable for our family of 4, and equipped for all we needed for our two night stay.
Child friendly - our boys loved the farm animals and were able to have a go at milking of the goats.
We also got a taste of delicious fresh goats milk. Lovely experience for us all.
We would stay again if in the area.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely site, simple but peaceful and relaxing - spacious and well-separated pitches, shower and toilets functional and clean, helpful welcoming owners. Right by the K&A canal with an easy 20-min walk into Bradford-on-Avon (or an hourly bus from just outside the site entrance, which also goes on to Bath). Our first visit here but we’ll definitely be going back

Disliked Just a little noise from the road but not a serious issue

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Great site with a unique layout of individual pitches mown into a meadow on a small holding. Owners couldn't have been more helpful. Located on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon it's a easy walk into town along the canal and there is a canal side pub opposite the entrance.

It's currently a pop up site so portable loos and showers but facilities were very clean and we had a great time. Recommend to all!

Disliked Nothing.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Conveniently close enough to walk into Bradford upon Avon - approx 20 mins walk along the canal or 15 mins by road, or 5 mins by bus every half hour. Restaurant/bar over the road. Large pitches, neatly mown into the longer grass with plenty of space in-between and a wide mown area in the middle - so it felt very spacious. A simple site with basic but clean facilities (small block with one toilet and separate shower, plus some very clean portaloos, plus outdoor washing up sinks). Great base for exploring Bradford upon Avon.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Big field, great location, pub across the road on the canal and 20mins walk into Burton upon Avon along the canal.
No electric but they had set up a shower & toilet + a couple of portaloos, which was fine.
Very friendly owners and would definitely stay there again.
