Pilton Yurt Camps: Space for up to three guests

General

  • Peaceful glamping site surrounded by the Somerset countryside
  • Half an hour’s drive from Longleat and 35 minutes from Cheddar Gorge
  • Food shop, pubs and restaurants within walking distance

Searching for somewhere splendid to set down in the Somerset countryside? Overlooking miles of peaceful hills, Pilton Yurt Camps is a glamping site well-positioned for a rural getaway. So, whether you’re planning on surveying the caverns, stalactites and gorge at Cheddar Gorge (35 minutes’ drive away) or ogling over the animals in Longleat’s safari and adventure park (half an hour’s drive away), you’ll be well-set.

With bright mornings, resident roaming farm animals and a selection of wildlife around the site, this site is rather laidback and away from any city buzz. Despite its peaceful surroundings, there’s still wifi so that guests can take note of the local attractions.

Based on the outskirts of the scenic Pilton village, it’s easy to source any supplies or bits and bobs you left out of your luggage. The nearest food shop is five minutes’ drive away from the site (that’s a 35-minute walk if you’d rather go on foot).

Before you head out in search of food supplies though, you might want to scout out the local restaurants and cafés. Conveniently, there are many rural eateries on-hand to sample some Somerset produce and handily, they are within walking distance of the site.

And of course, if you’re looking for somewhere to eat with sights you can walk around afterwards, Glastonbury (20 minutes’ drive), Bruton (15 minutes) and Frome (25 minutes) are some good spots to dine out.
