  • Spacious eco cabin in a nine-acre Somerset field with Mendips views
  • Bristol, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge within a half-hour drive
  • Dog-friendly accommodation in a fenced-off field
How might you like a rural Somerset break where you can get straight out for country walks without needing to drive? And might that sound even better if there were a river to dip into at the end of your walk, and a sheltered porch area where you can soak up the sunset views in comfort (perhaps while sipping on a glass of something…)? If that all sounds just fabulous, make your way to Beachams Barn Cabins, where you’ll stay in a spacious eco cabin in a nine-acre field with views across the Mendip Hills National Landscape. There are several walks to follow around the property and in the local area, and the River Yeo passes at the bottom of the field – you’re welcome to take a paddle here at the end of a warm summer’s day. The cabin has been nicely designed for a cosy couple’s stay, with a kingsize bedroom, an ensuite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen (with cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster) and an open-plan living/dining space. Dogs are welcome to join you for a break here, and can run free around the field – it’s surrounded with cattle fence so it’s pretty secure, but you’ll still need to keep an eye on them. There are no farm animals on site, but you will meet Sparky the border collie. The landscape around here lend themselves well to outdoor days, whether you fancy cycling, watersports or just checking out places like Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. Bristol and Wells are both about half an hour’s drive away for days out too.
