  • Small, level touring park in Banwell at the foot of the Mendip Hills
  • Two miles from the M5 and five from Weston-Super-Mare
  • Plenty of open space and spectacular views
As the owners of Myrtle Farm Holidays rightly point out, its setting at the foot of Somerset's Mendip Hills means there's something here for all sorts. Weston-super-Mare is only five miles away, hilly hikes are on the doorstep, and within a quick drive you'll be at famed Somerset and Wiltshire spots like Cheddar Gorge, Bristol and Bath, Stonehenge, Longleat and anciently idiosyncratic Glastonbury. Its semi-rural location a mile from the village of Banwell has it easily accessible too: Junction 21 of the M5 and Worle train station are both two miles away and Bristol airport within 11 miles. Myrtle Farm is a family-run, small and level touring park, welcoming families and adults, and facing south with excellent views. It's well maintained and spacious with plenty of room for kids to run around. Amenities include a shower and toilet block with underfloor heating and disabled facilities, and a kitchen with a washing machine and tumble dryer, all spotlessly kept and supplied with soap, shower gel and shampoo. A wifi hotspot can be accessed by the amenities. Village pubs, shops, restaurants, takeaways, a post office and a castle (cream teas in the summer, anyone?) are all a mile away at the farm's local village of Banwell.

What customers say

Myrtle Farm Holidays is praised for its exceptionally clean and modern facilities, spacious pitches, and friendly, helpful owners. The site is well-maintained, with a secure dog exercise area being a popular addition. Its convenient location near the M5 is ideal for stopovers and exploring local attractions. Some guests note background noise from the nearby motorway and busy roads, particularly on pitches closest to the roadside, though many find it unobtrusive. A few reviews mention a lack of nearby walking routes and limited Wi-Fi coverage.

Field 1 non-electric grass pitch (XL)

Liked We have really enjoyed our visit again this year. Lovely clean showers and toilets, all noise from campers stops at 10pm, camping plots are a decent size, the facilities are brilliant from hair dryers to washing machines and fridge freezers available to use. There is noise from the roads as stated but that doesn’t bother our family at all. We still slept well the whole week.

Disliked Nothing.

Liked We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful campsite with my son and our dog. The location was stunning, and the amenities were perfect. The showers, toilets and washing-up area were all immaculate, and there was a fantastic space for our dog to run around. Also, there was a fridge and freezer on site which was great for storing milk and freezing those ice blocks! Diane was incredibly hospitable and welcoming. Thank you so much for a lovely visit — we really enjoyed our stay at Myrtle Farm Holidays and would happily return!

Local attractions

The Myrtle Farm Holidays setting at the foot of the Mendip Hills has it perfectly placed for outdoorsy days, with a vast pick of walks, cycle routes, fishing and birdwatching within easy distance. By car, Cheddar village and the famed and fab Cheddar Gorge are very close by, as is the teeny city of Wells with its cathedral and independent shops. The National Trust-managed Victorian Gothic house of Tyntesfield is ten miles away. Another cracking option is Glastonbury, with its independent shops and cafés, museums, Glastonbury Abbey and Glastonbury Tor. The golden sandy beaches, seaside shops and wide range of restaurants and bars at Weston-Super-Mare, Brean and Burnham-on-Sea are all within a short drive. You'll also be within easy driving distance of the cities of Bristol and Bath and their shopping, theatres, cinemas, museums, bars and restaurants. Travel a little further to get to Wiltshire, where must-sees include Stonehenge and Longleat.
