Electric optional grass pitch (large)

Liked: Lots of space, green and quirky. Not far to the pub, serves good food, or bus stop. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Disliked: Lack of showers likely to put some off though not us.

Liked: Beautiful surroundings on farm with donkeys, piglets and lambs. On site so was a little pricey but is great to have a nearby shop. Really peaceful place for a few days' break.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovley stay and loved seeing the animals in the morning ! There’s some ‘cosy’ pitches which are amongst the trees which provides lots of privacy. Facilities were all as described. Would stay again.

Electric optional grass pitch (large)

Liked: Campsite 1 - spacious hedged pitches, own bins inc recycling & food waste. Fire pit, stump seat & picnic bench. The animals, info and own produce. General wildlife. Ring O Bells, Burcott Mill for fresh bread, Burcott inn & Wookey Hub. Very friendly mini bus driver in village although frequency is limited.

Disliked: Other campers letting their dogs off - when asked not to! Not the site owners fault! Single track road in dark is off putting when on foot.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: We were on campsite one, loads of space around us, lots of space for children to play. We were in pitch 15, which was enclosed by a hedge, the site was quiet after 10pm. Compost toilets were clean and well looked after. This is a real friendly family campsite. We liked the donkeys, pigs and goats. The shop selling fresh goat milk and cheese. We could have a small fire in the evening, which added to the magic for our four year old granddaughter. The evening bar was great, both the cider and the ale were much appreciated after a long day at Wookey Hole!

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

The farm is within easy reach of many top spots as well as Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury, Wells and Weston-super-Mare: spectacular Cheddar Gorge is 20 minutes' drive away, Longleat and Bath within 50, and Bristol just under an hour. Quieter times await around the region's walks, such as along the 30 miles of the West Mendip Way running from Wells via Wookey to the sea at Uphill, or the Strawberry Line (also 30 miles), a traffic-free route across Somerset from Shepton Mallet to Clevedon. Closer to home, amble along the River Axe flowing through the farm. Till ringers and fashion fans should take their wallets to Clarks Village, 20 minutes away, for outlet shopping and the Shoe Museum.
