Our park plan. which tier’s your favourite?

  • Peaceful and scenic touring pitches on a friendly, family-run farm
  • Walks in the Blackdown Hills National Landscape 15 minutes' drive away
  • A 10-minute drive from the M5 and 40 minutes from the southwest coast
Seeking some simple Somerset serenity? Grab yourselves a pitch at Gamlins Farm Touring Park, which has a splendid 2.6 acres of peaceful countryside to its name. The touring pitches here are spacious and surrounded by lovely hill views, making it just the spot for a bit of quiet rural relaxation. It’s a family-run and family-friendly place where dogs are welcome too – both kids and dogs are likely to appreciate the chance to run about in the open air while the grownups put their feet up and soak up the views. All the essential facilities have been provided here, including a launderette, a chemical disposal point, toilets and showers. Guests are welcome to bring barbecues or light campfires; pick up supplies at the shops in nearby Wellington (10 minutes’ drive) or Taunton (20 minutes). Both towns are also good places to find places to eat out, and there are also several pubs to pick from in the local villages. As it’s only a 10-minute drive from the M5, Gamlins Farm makes a handy stopover point for those taking on a long motorway trip. It’s worth a trip in its own right too, though, for a few days chilling out in scenic surroundings with your family, your pals, your other half or just your good self. Locations on the southwest coast of England, including Exmouth and Sidmouth, are 40 to 45 minutes' drive away from the site.

What customers say

This newly refurbished, small, quiet campsite receives glowing reviews for its exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts, Lisa and Woody. Visitors consistently praise the immaculate cleanliness of the facilities, including the showers and toilets, with thoughtful extra touches. Pitches are described as well-sized, level, and clean. Free WiFi is excellent. While some noted a lack of children's play facilities, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many planning to return.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Booked as an overnight stop from the East Midlands en route to Cornwall
Very warm welcome from the Team.
Clean toilet/shower blocks.
Lovely location.
Nice, small site with flat hard standing pitches.
Free Wi-Fi was great.
Very limited for the kids but we knew this when we booked, so it wasn’t important, the kids made their own fun using the hammocks that were at the top of the site.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Close to shops and pubs, nice walks from the site

Disliked Massive campsite, only two toilets and two showers each, cues for the facilities. Rubbish around. Pitches very cramped, almost on top of each other.

Local attractions

The main focus at this site is usually relaxing in the lovely rural setting rather than packing days full of busy excursions. There are, however, plenty of options for low-key outings, including walks in the nearby Blackdown Hills National Landscape (15 minutes’ drive) or at the Bridwell Park estate (10 minutes), where you may well encounter deer in the grounds. For other outdoor activities nearby, train your aim at Abbey Burton Clay Shooting (15 minutes), play a round at Oake Manor Golf Club (20 minutes) or head to Somerset Adventures (20 minutes) for archery, climbing and watersports. For something a little bit different (but thoroughly rural), how about meeting some cute companions at Somerset Sheep Trekking or Stoke Wood Alpacas (both 25 minutes)? If you need indoor attractions for a damp day, both the Museum of Somerset and County Classics Motor Museum in Taunton (20 minutes) are worth visiting. There’s also an intriguing little museum/heritage centre at Upottery Airfield (25 minutes) for anyone with an interest in flying and/or the area’s role in World War II.
