Spick, span, secluded and small are the first necessities guests are likely to tick off when they arrive at Gamlins Farm Caravan Park near Wellington in Somerset, with other essentials like a friendly welcome and nearness to Somerset’s sights also a shoe-in. You might be tickled to hear there’s free coarse fishing on site too…
Many guests use Gamlins Farm as a stopover on their way to Devon and Cornwall (it’s just two miles from the A38), but those who stick around Somerset for a week or two find plenty of activities here to boot, such as hiking and biking along the Grand Western Canal a mile away, taking a trip to Taunton (20 minutes) or traipsing around the Blackdown Hills, reachable in about ten minutes’ drive. Guests can use the Gamlins Farm fishing lake between sunrise and sunset for as long as they like free of charge if they’re looking to hook common, mirror and ghost carp, perch, rudd and roach.
As you might appraise from the free angling on offer, Gamlins Farm Caravan Park is a friendly and laidback place to lay your hat/fishing rod: it’s family run by a team who keep standards high around the site amenities including clean showers and loos, free hot water and free use of hairdryers. A launderette is on standby for guests’ use and there’s also a games/lounge room with pool table and loads of tourist info on Somerset and its surrounding areas. Wifi is available for a small extra charge.
The park is spread over four acres in a remote valley and has pitches with optional electric, recycling facilities and a chemical disposal point. Supplies can be picked up nearby at two village shops – Greenham a mile and a half away and Holcome Rogus two miles away – or at three supermarkets five miles away in Wellington. Bah to cooking? Four very decent pubs with top-notch food and real ales are within two miles of the campsite: the Globe Inn, The Prince of Wales, The Poacher's Pocket and The Beam Bridge Inn.
All members of the family – junior as well as canine – are welcome at Gamlins Farm, although the management just ask that dogs are kept on leads while on site and exercised in the adjoining field. We accept no responsibility if you want to try this with the kids too…

It's now possible to make group bookings on Pitchup.com for up to 30 adults and 30 children.
As long as the 'one unit per pitch' rule is not highlighted on the pitch type information (please check this before completing your booking), you will be able to pitch your tents together on one booking.
If you are not satisfied with the results generated, try breaking your booking down for more options. For example, if you're a group of 10, enter five people for your initial search and book two pitches. Use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together when booking multiple pitches or accommodation units: the campsite or park will try to grant your request. Click the 'Make another booking like this' button on the confirmation page to take you back to your chosen campsite/park listing page so you can make your next booking straight away. Please note the same dates and party size will be used, so you'll need to change this if the number of people or child ages are different.
Before booking, please check the listing page for any group restrictions. These normally appear in a section titled 'Please note'. Please also check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit - especially for a large party - is suitable for the space you will be provided with.
