Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Very Friendly. Facilities all good and clean. Showers free. Clubhouse was cheap for drinks. Nice lakes and walks. Golf course there if thats your thing. Lots of nice farm shops near by for provisions.

Disliked: Hardstanding felt a bit like a car park not a caravan site.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Spacious pretty site with room for kids to explore and play. Relaxed approach by owners and we weren't pushed to leave by 11 on the dot which allowed time for us to dry our tent. We had a lovely flat pitch which was in the sun all day (when it shone). It was nice to have the option of having a coffee, drink or lunch in the bar. Hubby very impressed with the fishing. Ladies wash rooms were modern and acceptably clean.

Disliked: The boys said the men's wash rooms were tired. Maybe they'll be updated soon. The boys were disappointed that the driving range was closed, as this was one of the things which attracted us to the site. We completely understand the reasons why though. They could do with more than 1 dish washing sink.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comments greatly appreciated. The men's shower block is on our refurbishment list as is the wash up room.

Local attractions

If you’re after ancient monuments, it’s half an hour’s drive from the site to the gigantic Cerne Abbas chalk figure and 50 minutes to Stonehenge. For sights even older, it's an hour's drive to the fossil-strewn Jurassic Coast, where you can combine kayak trips around the cliffs with amateur archaeology on the beaches at popular spots like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, or walk sections of the South West Coast Path. It’s a similar distance to bigger coastal towns like Weymouth –where time at aquariums and skate parks can be mixed with wildlife walks round the RSPB Reserves of Radipole Lake and Lodmoor – or to Poole, where you can mix harbour cruises and seal-spotting sea safaris with the flumes, rides and slides of Splashdown waterpark. Heading inland, Bath has been drawing the crowds since Roman times and is well worth the hour-long trip: tour the old Roman baths, take a dip, soak or steam in the spa waters yourself, and top it off by making a bespoke brew at Bath Gin distillery. For cycling fans, the Bath Two Tunnels Circuit runs under and around the city on a 13-mile loop; for those more fond of gentle strolls, few sites are prettier than the Prior Park Landscape Garden, designed by Capability Brown.
