  • Luxury safari lodges on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Somerset
  • Wimbleball Lake 15 minutes’ drive and Lynmouth 55 minutes
  • On-site shop selling local produce; meet-and-greet with the animals
On the border of Devon and Somerset, Flora and Fauna has a rural setting within striking distance of Exmoor National Park. Accommodation is in high-end, spacious safari lodges, sleeping up to six guests in two king/twin-size bedrooms and a ‘secret’ cabin bed for children. With integrated facilities throughout, they are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Luxury touches include cosy living areas heated by woodburner, 50-inch smart TVs, state-of-the-art wet rooms and fitted kitchens. In the evening, curl up on the sofa with a favourite book in front of the fire, or lie back in your private hot tub to watch the sunset. After dark on clear nights, you’ll soon realise why Exmoor National Park was the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe – it has the darkest skies in the country. Kids can run freely and safely around the property, and get up close to a menagerie of farm animals during their stay too. Pygmy goats, pigs, cows and sheep all welcome the chance to grab a selfie with their visitors. Dogs are welcome too; there’s lots of space to give them a stretch of paws, but please keep them under control around the livestock. Local produce is available in the site’s shop, some of it from the farm itself. There’s a welcoming country inn within walking distance, plus pubs and restaurants in Bampton (20 minutes’ drive) and supermarkets in Tiverton (25 minutes).
