General
- Rainbow-coloured bell tents in a pretty cottage garden
- A quarter of an hour's drive from Glastonbury or Lytes Cary Manor
- Easy walk to the river Brue; surrounded by fields and apple orchards
Box Cottage Bell Tent is an exclusive-use site in a pretty cottage garden in the Somerset countryside, about five miles from Somerton and Glastonbury.
Getting to this pop-up site involves travelling down a single-track country lane to reach your rainbow-coloured bell tent, which has plenty of space inside and out for a relaxed family holiday.
There is a lovely outdoor area next to the tent with a chunky wooden table and six chairs all set up for alfresco dining. There is also a handy area for cooking, plus a firepit to keep you warm after sundown in the evening. This is set up as a ‘rough and ready’ experience rather than luxury glamping: facilities stretch to a portable toilet, a privacy tent and two camp showers or one hot shower and one solar shower bag if you'd like some privacy. There is also a portable sink with hot water and a sink with cold water.
From your tent in the hamlet of Silver Street it’s an easy walk to the banks of the river Brue along a route surrounded by apple orchards and fields. There's much to explore further afield too, such as scenic walks on the Somerset Levels, sampling authentic scrumpy cider or stopping to appreciate a meal in one of the area's many country pubs, the nearest of which is half a mile from Box Cottage Bell Tent in Barton St David.

What a slow coach I am in replying to your review; I'm so busy with preparations for my daughter's wedding on September 3rd! I'm made up that you enjoyed your stay with us so much. It gives me a lot of pleasure to know the kid's had a good time. Thank you for your review. Hope to see you next year. |

Thank you for your appreciative comments. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I like to set up the tent according to who is statying. Your daughter and baby were delightful and a pleasure to have stay in the tent. I know it's not always easy camping with young children, especially when the weather's not great, so try to make the experience enjoyable. |

To wake up in a rainbow is the best feeling ever. Happy children.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. You were lovely guests. I am so pleased your children enjoyed the play house. My idea to do this started a couple of years ago and it is great that it has come to fruition and guests can enjoy the peace and tranquility rural Somerset offers. I hope the joy of waking up in rainbow colours can be experienced by many more guests. |
