  • Rainbow-coloured bell tents in a pretty cottage garden
  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Glastonbury or Lytes Cary Manor
  • Easy walk to the river Brue; surrounded by fields and apple orchards
Box Cottage Bell Tent is an exclusive-use site in a pretty cottage garden in the Somerset countryside, about five miles from Somerton and Glastonbury. Getting to this pop-up site involves travelling down a single-track country lane to reach your rainbow-coloured bell tent, which has plenty of space inside and out for a relaxed family holiday. There is a lovely outdoor area next to the tent with a chunky wooden table and six chairs all set up for alfresco dining. There is also a handy area for cooking, plus a firepit to keep you warm after sundown in the evening. This is set up as a ‘rough and ready’ experience rather than luxury glamping: facilities stretch to a portable toilet, a privacy tent and two camp showers or one hot shower and one solar shower bag if you'd like some privacy. There is also a portable sink with hot water and a sink with cold water. From your tent in the hamlet of Silver Street it’s an easy walk to the banks of the river Brue along a route surrounded by apple orchards and fields. There's much to explore further afield too, such as scenic walks on the Somerset Levels, sampling authentic scrumpy cider or stopping to appreciate a meal in one of the area's many country pubs, the nearest of which is half a mile from Box Cottage Bell Tent in Barton St David.

Rohana D. The reviewer booked through Pitchup.com

Serin bell tent (six person)

Liked We booked this as a last minute getaway and it was absolutely lovely. The attention to smaller details and the little touches to help kids feel thought of made such a difference. As soon as we walked in, my 3 kids were extra excited to see bubble wants and some toys and books. It made our stay more comfortable because they felt important and it was a treat to have toys that we didn't own.

The actual tent is spacious and beautiful decorated with little tables that were great to share breakfast around and to play a game of chess.

The kids also had access to a playhouse that was prepped with colouring and soft toys and little fairy lights and torches.

Overall a beautiful set up. Clean and accessible. Jo and her daughter were lovely and had a great chat too. I'd highly recommend staying here.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your review. It was lovely to have you all to stay with us. I'm so delighted you enjoyed your stay in the tent. I hope we'll see you in the future so you can visit Stonehenge gain to see the sunrise. Lots of love Jo xx
