What customers say
This is a peaceful, rural campsite with beautiful countryside and sea views, and the added attraction of a nearby steam railway. Visitors praise the friendly and helpful hosts, the spacious pitches, and the generally clean, well-maintained compost toilets and shower. While considered basic, the facilities are adequate for a relaxing stay. The site is well-located for exploring the local area and beaches, and is appreciated for its tranquil atmosphere and lack of busy holiday camp vibes. Some guests noted issues with toilet cleanliness and lighting, which the manager stated they are addressing. There are plans to add washing-up facilities.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Site is beautiful, friendly hosts, very peaceful, lots of wildlife to spot - we saw bats, buzzard, pheasants, and their resident fox! You can see the steam train from your pitch, and at night the stars are amazing, we saw loads of shooting stars! We'd recommend a delicious Styles ice-cream, followed by a stroll along the beach to digest at Blue Anchor. Easy driving distance to Minehead for fish n chips!

Bell tent
Liked Beautiful location, very peaceful & quiet. Great, clean facilities (shower & composting toilet). We stayed in a bell tent, this was surprisingly large & comfortable. It was more luxurious than I was expepecting. Very comfy double bed with a warm duvet, 2 camp beds for the kids and even a chaise longue! We only stayed for one night but would love to visit again and spend longer here.

From the manager: Hi Iain
Thank you for your lovely review and your feedback.
We have 5 water points in total. 2 inside the toilets, 2 outside the toilets and 1 halfway up the field where we now have a small washing up area.
I am really glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
All the very best.
Perfect campsite for the summer
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We loved our stay at Marshwood. Completely relaxing. Plenty of space to pitch our tent and didn't feel too busy. Lisa was very friendly and welcoming and chatted with us daily. I loved the solar shower. Composting toilets took a bit of getting used to but they were fine. The site is in a beautiful location, only a short walk on the road into Blue Anchor yet in a peaceful location. Sea view and nice to watch the steam trains going past, I would definitely recommend this site

From the manager: Hi,
Thank you for staying with us and for your kind review.
Because we are just a pop up site its difficult for us to put in infrastructure, however we do take your point and we are working on having something in place.
I hope you will come back and see what we come up with :)
Take care for now!
