Swimming pool

General

  • Family holiday park with indoor and outdoor pools plus a fishing lake
  • A five-minute drive to Burnham-on-Sea and 20 to Weston-super-Mare
  • Sauna, Jacuzzi, restaurant, live entertainment, shop and play area

Run by a family for families, Home Farm Holiday Park really does have everything your travel crew needs for a satisfying stint in Somerset… including both indoor and outdoor swimming pools (open in the warmer months), with the latter having a mini water factory and a toddler splash zone.

Parents can sprawl out on a sun lounger while the kids swim at this site a five-minute drive from Burnham-on-Sea (...or find a babysitter and make their way towards the well-stocked fishing lake on site to reel in common carp, bream and pike with an environmental rod licence plus a Home Farm Fishing Permit). A fully equipped gym’s also on site for the adults, as well as a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room for an extra fee.

Activities the clan can take part in together include live entertainment during the evenings at the Nite Owl complex, which also has two amusement arcades, a family-friendly restaurant and a kids’ bar. If the big game’s on, you can catch it here as there’s live Sky and BT Sports for footie matches (fans might also appreciate that a pitch is on site too). Free wifi’s available at the centre as well, so you can browse the web while you get into the Somerset spirit by sipping on a cider…

Line the stomach beforehand with the takeaway menu or concoct your own meals using ingredients from the on-site supermarket. It’ll be easy to get home and feed the kids after exploring the region as the park’s close to Junction 22 of the M5 motorway. Got the pup with you as well? A special dog-walking area’s on site.

Nice site with modern clean facilities , the bar entertainment was good . You get good children’s acts in the club house and on our stay The Wurzels played and for us Somerset locals it was great. Food and drink prices are very reasonable and a nice change compared with some venues we’ve stayed at. A veg pizza, chips and 2 large reds for a only few pennies more than £20.
The fishing pond looks really nice.

The pub was great - very reasonably priced and felt like a 'regular' pub rather than a site club house.

    Disliked:

The pitch we were on was practically right next to a very noisy busy road. I felt that the management tried to fit too many pitches on the site and privacy was very much compromised because of this. It was certainly the closest I have ever been to my neighbours and I have camped substantially in my motorhome in this country and abroad. The pool, although a fantastic amenity, had sand all over the bottom which is easily rectified with the proper equipment and certainly made the pool feel unclean. The shop was very understocked; whilst I appreciate that it was a busy bank holiday weekend, it's not as though they didn't know how many people were staying at the site!

Large site, shop good, entertainment there if required and a nice outdoor pool. Son also used the Gym. Was in a great location for visiting other places.

    Disliked:

Not enough toilet/shower blocks for the size of the site (only 2, so quite a walk). Pitches very close together, tightly packed it. One of the showers ran cold all week, nobody fixed it! Also there was no way of cleaning the floors of the showers, so always muddy and grassy (some sort of shower broom would be good, like you get abroad, which the participate should use after use). Was just off a main, busy road (traffic noise most of the day & night - plus sirens on their way to and from Burnham where there are lots of very large tourist caravan sites plus adventure areas and many places to eat). And there is a train track running down the other side - trains did not run during the night but during the day you could hear them and their tooting! There was NO Wifi on the site, you had to go and sit in the cafe for that - caused problems with our son!!
