  • Small, peaceful site on a farm with views over the Cam Valley
  • A 15-minute drive to Bath city centre; 25 minutes to Wookey Hole
  • Buy firewood on site for campfires; two pubs within walking distance
Sheephouse Farm is a small, peaceful site on a family-run dairy farm in the Somerset countryside, with views over the Cam Valley. There are lots of great walks to do around here, but arguably one of the most rewarding routes takes you to the village of Peasedown St John, a couple of miles away, for dinner and drinks at one of the two pubs. If you’ve got something else in mind for food, there are a couple of local shops and a fish and chip shop about a mile away. The immediate surrounds are mainly rural, but it’s not far at all to find something more urban, as it’s only a 15-minute drive from the site to the centre of Bath for visits to the abbey, the Roman Baths and the Royal Crescent. Wells, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge are also close by for days out, too. This is a back to basics site that has a fresh water supply and a portable toilet, but no showers. Barbecues and campfires are permitted, and there’s firewood available to buy on site (you can borrow a firepit too if you're buying firewood on site). Dogs and kids are welcome, and you’re also able to bring along a small generator if you need a bit of power.
