What customers say
This is a clean, well-maintained campsite with friendly owners and lovely views. Visitors praised the new and clean toilet and shower facilities, and the spacious bell tents. The alpacas were a highlight for many, especially families. While the site is generally quiet and peaceful, some noted occasional noise from a nearby main road. A lack of on-site electric hook-ups and a desire for a small tea/coffee shop were mentioned.

Bell tent
Liked We have just returned from a visit at Peak View Gardens campsite, we had an absolutely wonderful time. It is quiet and family friendly and suited our needs for our 3 young boys. The view of waking up to the Alpacas in the morning was a delight. We enjoyed the stay so much that we made the decision to extend our stay by an extra night. The owners are very attentive and happy to help with anything needed -they were very quick to respond to any queries.
We will be planning to stay again in the future.

Nice campsite but poor toilet layout
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Cute little campsite with a few animals
Disliked Toilet and shower in same room and only 3 rooms so when people are showering other people can’t use the toilet resulting in people peeing behind cars in carpark area
Noisy guests playing loud music.
Never met anyone who worked there!

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the charm of our little campsite and the alpacas on-site.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience with our facilities. At the moment, our showers and toilets are located together in combined rooms, which we understand can cause inconvenience during busy times. We are reviewing ways to improve accessibility for all guests and appreciate your comments as we plan future upgrades.
We also regret that you experienced noise from other guests. While we kindly ask everyone to respect quiet hours, we recognise that this doesn’t always happen and will continue working on stronger enforcement to ensure a peaceful stay for all.
Lastly, we apologise if you didn’t have the chance to meet our team during your visit. We do have staff on site and available by phone, but we’ll make sure we’re more visible and approachable for guests going forward.
Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us improve the experience for future visitors.
Site was ok but been to a lot better probably wouldn’t use again

Liked Alpacas in the field next to camping field
Disliked All of the tents but a couple including ours had families in that were all there together so most of the site was just them making a lot of noise till late. Showers not great didn’t use them in the end as only stayed for one night so showered when got home.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed seeing the alpacas in the field next to the campsite.
We’re sorry that your experience was affected by noise from other guests.
Each tent was booked individually, so we were not aware this was a larger family group when reservations were made.
We do not accept stag or hen parties, and we are updating our Terms & Conditions with Pitchup to make our policy on group bookings clearer to help avoid situations like this in future.
With regard to the showers, these are cleaned and checked regularly, but we take your comments on board and will continue to monitor them closely to ensure they remain up to standard for all guests.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, as this helps us improve, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another try in the future.

Great site
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We were able to drive to our pitch and unload, but after that cars were parked in the car park. This was great as it meant you could play ball games ect on the site without the worry of hitting any cars. The space was great and not too overcrowded which meant we were able to set up badminton and play some camp games. We were also pleasantly surprised that the site had alpacas, these were cute. The facilities were adequate. We also managed to do a walk literally from the site on the last day without the need of driving which was great.
Disliked The showers were very temperamental in the sense that they were either freezing cold or boiling hot. We were able to manage with body showers, but hair washing was difficult. I'm not sure how you would manage with a young child.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked I loved how peaceful and relaxing the site felt, with beautiful views and a great location for exploring the Somerset countryside. The facilities were well maintained, and the pitches were spacious and level. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the presence of the alpacas added a fun, unique touch. The nearby pub was super convenient, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and family-friendly — perfect for a getaway.

Lovely location. Shame the management allow large groups of 40+
Bell tent
Liked The alpacas
The location
Stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful location. However imagine coming back to your tent from having one drink at the local pub, for the whole field to be full of one large family. They say no stag dos or hens but this was worse. I had to call Management at 1.30am who did nothing. They were allowed to stay and stay the next night.
I booked this for my family after a stressful time and this just made it impossible to have a good time, down to this our whole mini trip was ruined.
Disliked Mismanagement
Unfair
paying £70 a night whilst the campers are paying £18. Kept us up all night. Twice.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that your experience with us did not meet your expectations.
With regard to the group that disturbed your stay, each tent was booked separately so we were not aware this was a larger family group at the time of booking. We do state that we do not accept stag or hen parties, and we are now working with Pitchup to make our Terms & Conditions clearer so that this type of situation can be better prevented in the future.
As soon as you contacted us during the night, we came up to the campsite and spoke directly with the group. Unfortunately, we could not hear the noise from our home, but we did address the situation as soon as we were made aware.
Our toilets and facilities are checked two to three times a day. During our inspections there were no items left around, but had we seen or been notified of underwear or anything similar in the sinks, we would have acted on it straight away.
We also appreciate your comments regarding pricing. Our glamping units and standard camping pitches are priced differently to reflect the facilities, set-up, and experience provided. That said, we understand how disruptive neighbours can impact the value of any stay, regardless of the price paid, and we are sorry that this overshadowed your visit.
We are very sorry that your stay was affected by the actions of other campers. Your comments will help us improve how we manage situations like this going forward, while continuing to provide a peaceful and enjoyable environment for all our guests.
We’re pleased you enjoyed the alpacas and the location, and we do hope you’ll consider visiting us again in the future under better circumstances.
