  • Peaceful adults-only campsite at a private Dorset nature reserve
  • North Dorset Railway 15 minutes’ drive; Abbotsbury Swannery 50 minutes
  • Wildlife lake on site; Sturminster Newton eateries 10 minutes’ drive
Going adults-only in Dorset? Best head for Redlands Breaks, set on a private nature reserve 10 minutes’ drive from Sturminster Newton. Once there, you can tuck yourselves into your cosy and peaceful accommodation – nicely quiet as there are no kids running around – and put your feet up with gorgeous views over the wildlife lake (look out for the ducklings). To make your stay at Redlands even more special, breakfast and barbecue hampers are available (for an extra cost), and you can also order wine and champagne to add to the romance of your stay at this scenic spot. There are food shops in Sturminster Newton as well as a choice of restaurants and brasseries for special nights out à deux, or you can order takeaways and take them back to your pitch for an equally special night in. On-site facilities include a wooden shower block, a fridge for keeping your food fresh, a washing-up area and a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. While dogs are very welcome on the site, please pick up after them and put the bags in the designated dog-waste bin.

What customers say

This adults-only campsite is praised for its peaceful, tranquil atmosphere and spacious, level pitches, many overlooking a lake. Visitors highlight the excellent, spotless facilities including showers, communal fridge/freezer, and washing-up areas. The friendly and helpful owners, natural setting with wildlife, and proximity to village shops and pubs are frequently mentioned positives. Minor points include unisex toilets and occasional Wi-Fi issues, but overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive with many guests planning return visits.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We both really enjoyed our first visit to the site. We were on our maiden campervan trip also. The whole stay was really relaxed and restful. Our initial call with Kate was great and upon meeting her, we could tell she was passionate about ensuring we had a great overnight stay. All amenities were clean and accessible. Kate mentioned that it is a work in progress but tbh everything we needed was available. We will be returning in future.

Pub and shop in walking distance.

Disliked Bit breezy when the rest of the country was having a heatwave.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We've stayed before, it's a lovely site, hence going back. Unfortunately on our way down from Suffolk, we had a family emergency and had to stay in Somerset to take care of our grandchildren. I tried to call Redlands Breaks as soon as I was aware but got no answer so I emailed to explain our situation. Unfortunately I never heard back from anyone which was a bit disappointing as I was hoping to move the booking to another date. Saying that, we will book again.

From the manager: I’m ever-so sorry you could not get through, we thought we had responded to everyone this week After running over my phone with the tractor if you would like to reschedule please pop us a text message and we will happily re schedule your booking.
Kind regards David

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely peaceful site, geese wandering around together , and the lake to walk around with our dog. Couple of nice pubs close by that served really good food. We only booked for to two nights but added an extra night whilst there. Highly recommend a stay here and we will stay again.
