Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Access to lake, clean toilets and nice cafe.
Staff friendly on check in
Lots of space between pitches
Quiet site
Kids enjoyed it
Fire pits
Disliked Showers cold even after dawn (10am). Info on showers needs to be updated. It says do not use after dusk or before dawn as solar powered and so unlikely to be warm. Sunrise was at 5am. Even the showers by the cafe were cold. Need to consider a secondary way to warm the water on cloudy days with sunny spells espcially with lake swimming and paddleboarding. No mirrors by the sinks in the eco block.
Staff in the cafe weren't very accommodating. My friend asked for a slice of toast at breakfast and was told they couldn't do this as they needed the bread for sandwiches during the day.

What customers say
This family-friendly campsite is praised for its beautiful location, spacious pitches, and the fantastic lake, ideal for paddleboarding and swimming. Guests highlight the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities (with recent upgrades noted), and the relaxed atmosphere. A nearby pub and on-site cafe are popular additions. While generally well-received, some visitors mention intermittent water pressure in showers and occasional noise from larger groups.

Bell tent (basic)
Liked The whole set up is fantastic, laid back . The two who oversee it are friendly and helpful. I had a delivery from Amazon . (
Midge spray- didn’t need it) and chap jumped in his pick up and went got it for me. To repeat helpful
Disliked Showers very temperamental! Only had a warm one over three days. This was a shame as in and out of lake, 🥵 believe the empty tent was bit pricey but was holiday : weekend time
