General

  • Ideal location to visit Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset attractions
  • Family run with friendly and helpful staff
  • Two-acre off-lead field for dogs

Three miles from Poole and 20 minutes from Bournemouth spells Dorset seaside to us.
And if you like to get to the Dorset seaside without picking up the car keys, stay at South Lytchett Manor Caravan Park: the excellent bus service at the gates runs to Poole and Bournemouth as well as to Wareham and Swanage.

South Lytchett Manor is a family-run park, set in 25 acres of the peaceful parkland once belonging to Lytchett Manor. It's family-friendly and has a playground as well as plenty of space for ball games and a two-acre mown off-lead field to let dogs run loose.

The South Lytchett Manor team says their amenities blocks are of an exceptional standard and we're sure we'd agree: not only are they heated in the winter and have powerful showers, they also come with professional hair dryers, piped music and fresh flowers.

For food, the site has direct access to a craft centre with a café serving breakfast, lunch and Dorset cream teas, and a comely village pub serving food a ten-minute walk along a tarmac footpath: look out for any special food and wine offers.

From the moment we arrived the staff were great. First time I have been shown to our pitch and given a overview of the site. I loved my pitch, in the corner so added privacy as only bordering on one other tent. The facilities were very clean and seemed that every time I was there they were mopping and cleaning! Shop was very well stocked and the kids loved the range of toys and games available. They have played table tennis on the outside table, great idea and have used the games room and play area. Given vouchers for local café and pub, both of which we used and easy to walk to. I loved the security, gates being shut at night.
    We will be returning soon.
    Thank you.

    The lay out
    The shop
The location- very close to Poole
    Free wi fi!
    Good size pitches
    Clean and tidy
Well organised and meeted and greeted on arrival and waved goodbye ehen leaving
Recycling bag provided at beginning of holiday
St Peters Finger restuarant with free bottle of wine- make sure you book a table!

    Disliked:

Only two family shower rooms. The other shower rooms dont really cater for you and child, resulting in limited soace for clothes and getting dried and dressed.
Because the showers are in the same place as the toilets, at busy tines the floor floods, so if you go to the loo you need to wear wellies or roll your trousers up.
Someone playing music into the early hours, then singing at 2am! We didnt complain and it only happened on one night, so maybe someone else did.
Field was bogged when it rained heavily, however the owners cant stop British weather.
3hr wi fi tokens so you have to keep getting more

As first time campers we were a bit nervous, but from the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome and supported. They explained a few things and made us feel at ease. It was a lovely site with great facilities. lovely clean washrooms and toilets and the facilities for washing up were brilliant too. It was just so clean!
It was a lovely pitch and we really enjoyed it, so much so that we stayed an extra night. I would highly recommend it, such a lovely place.
