Rockley Park Holiday Homes: Outdoor swimming pool

General

  • Haven’s flagship site, with Poole Harbour and Jurassic Coast views
  • A 10-minute drive from Poole and half an hour from Bournemouth
  • Restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, abseiling and miniature golf

On the scenic and ancient Jurassic Coast, with its own on-site beach and just 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Poole, the family-friendly (and dog-friendly) Rockley Park Holiday Homes has plenty to keep guests busy.

This is Haven Holidays' flagship site, so you'd be quite right to expect a top-notch stay. A park pass grants guests access to everything from indoor and outdoor swimming pools (the outdoor one open only in high season) to a climbing wall and abseiling, with lots in between. Guests won’t be left adrift in the deep end either as swimming lessons are available on site.

Those who prefer their activities to stay mostly in the dry can opt instead for games on the multisports courts, going game-set-match on the tennis courts, learning the ropes in archery and fencing, or putting around at miniature golf.

That all takes a lot of energy, so be sure to stay well-fed. This should be easy hereabouts, as there are four restaurants and takeaways dotted around the site, plus a café by the on-site beach (where dogs can go off lead) and a small convenience store for picking up cooking supplies.

Please note

Single-sex bookings of 5 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Facilities/activities including park passes if required are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Entertainment and activities are available between 14/03 and 31/10.

Most of the units are pet-friendly (with the exception of Tulip) but please check the conditions and inform the site if you will be bringing a dog.

Please note that park passes to Haven's Rockley Park are not included in the price of stays. However, these can be purchased from Haven reception on arrival, or at any time during stays. Activities, facilities and entertainment on the Haven site are open from the middle of March until the end of October half term. These are provided solely at the discretion of Haven Holidays and are separate to Rockley Park Holiday Homes.

Enjoyed holiday, great location, can travel by bus all around the coast. Beautiful scenery. Rockley park is well maintained and efficient. The caravan was good, privately owned. We will, hopefully return in the future!

The location is good, you are near a few tourist places. The park is clean and the staff that were in tried their best.

    Disliked:

Bed in private let was awful, was like sleeping on a wooden board. All the facilities were limited due to staff shortages so kids were unable to use outdoor pool and only able to book in indoor pool twice in a week and all the other activities were fully booked so the stay and play passes (£234 for 5 of us) were a huge waste of money! Not happy with the park tbh.

    Double bed very comfortable

    Disliked:

Mattress cover was disgusting, sink in on suit coming of pedestal,no sharp knives to cut with. Cups needed washing before use, in fact caravan not very clean considering we are in a pandemic it was a good thing I took bleach and cleaning equipment.
Electric fire not working properly, none of the doors fitted so didn’t shut, in fact I think this caravan needs a thorough clean and some maintenance.
Also the caravan was very smelly of dampness, I fact it was very disappointing and not worth the money we spent.
As we live in a caravan we do know what to expect.

Local attractions

Stays hereabouts should certainly include many trips to the beach. With several sandy stretches in easy reach – including Sandbanks (25 minutes’ drive), Studland Bay (40 minutes) and Lulworth Cove (40 minutes) – watersports, swims and strolls are a cinch to get to.

Beyond the seaside days, the play areas, animal experiences, go-karts and maze of Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park are 15 minutes from base, it’s 20 minutes to zooming down slides at Splashdown waterpark, about half an hour to monkey-see-monkey-do at Monkey World and Go Ape, and 35 minutes to the rides and play areas of Adventure Wonderland. Paulton’s Park, 55 minutes away, is a must-visit for rollercoasters, rides, animal shows and, of course, Peppa Pig World.

When explores of the past are preferable, there’s much more round here than just dinosaurs. Within 15 minutes of the site, guests can wander the grounds of Upton Country Park and, after about half an hour’s drive, land up at the National Trust’s stately old pile Kingston Lacy. Also half an hour away are the heritage Swanage Railway – which can be boarded at Norden station – and the famed Tank Museum.

For more urban-centric days, it’s a quick 10-minute drive over the lifting bridge into Poole for gardens, greyhound races and museums (including the RNLI Lifeboat Museum). The larger resort town of Bournemouth is half an hour away, and is a prime spot for beaches, art galleries, casinos and aquarium visits.
