What customers say
This well-maintained campsite offers spacious, clean pitches with excellent facilities, including spotless toilets and showers. Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff. Its beautiful rural location provides stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere, with many enjoying the lovely riverside walk to Lyme Regis. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points were raised regarding the cost of showers and Wi-Fi, and the firmness of the ground. The site's terraced layout contributes to privacy.

We will defiantly be coming back
Electric grass tent pitch (large)
Liked Very friendly staff, extremely clean facilities, good water pressure. Lovely setting. Our new favourite in the county. On site Indian food van arrived on Saturday night which was handy. 20p shower for 4 mins is no problem at all as all the facilities are spotless, I would happily pay that again and again. Wifi is excellent.
Disliked Really really minor things, some of these can’t be changed some would make it a 11 out of 10 campsite.
The ground on our pitch was very rocky, wrote off a good amount of pegs in the process - bring plenty of spares.
I tow for a living and even I would have second thoughts about towing a 16ft caravan up the lanes to the camp. Not for the faint hearted.
The bathrooms (which are spotless) could really do with a false ceiling. One to cover up all the utilities and keep the clean and sterile aesthetic, but two to keep all the spiders at bay in the rafters. Also some radiators in the bathrooms wouldn’t go a miss. Dropped to 4 degrees in the night during our stay, you are certainly reminded of this on a toilet seat first thing in the morning!
Indian food van but very expensive for what it was. 5 takeaway curries for £75!!!

From the manager: Thankyou for your review we are so pleased that we are your new favourite park in the country.
We always recommend strong pegs as being on the Jurassic coast the ground is very stoney. We also sell pegs in our campsite shop. We don't accept touring caravans on our park, but there are a couple of routes to our park both a very short distance from an A road.
We have two shower blocks, the one you visited is in one of our tent area and mainly used in the Summer by guests. I am pleased that you found the facilities spotless.
Quiet, hilly campsite with nice view from pitches
Electric grass campervan pitch (medium)
Liked Quiet campsite, nice view from pitch across valley, small pub a short walk away (downhill there, uphill back!).The campsite is on a hillside, with well kept toilet blocks at the top and bottom of the site; probably would not be suitable for anyone with reduced mobility who needed to use these. We enjoyed walking to/from to Lyme Regis using the River Lym footpath, which took around 45-50 minutes.
Disliked Did not see any private wash basins, only those in communal bathroom areas, so no privacy to wash if you don't need or want a full shower.
Check-in is from 1pm, which means 1pm! Arrived just before 12:55pm and waited in vehicle until 1pm.
These are both minor points, certainly didn't spoil a lovely few nights away. We would definitely come here again.

Very highly recommend, high standard equipped campsite.
Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)
Liked Very well equipped camp site! Pitches were spread out with tiered levels adding to increased privacy. The shower blocks were very good and kept clean. We visited in September so it wasn’t too busy but still enough people there. They had an Indian takeaway visit on Saturday night, however limited options. Would definitely consider visiting again. We did the river walk to Lyme Regis which was great! Staff were really friendly and helpful, always smiley and willing to help with any queries. Also saw wild deer!
Disliked Website and reviews makes the site seem stricter than it was in reality. I think it was one of the best campsites I’ve been too!

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and feedback, we're glad you enjoyed your stay and saw some local wildlife! The website does list the do's and don'ts as this helps inform guests before they book so they don't turn up as a group with a car full of logs, a gazebo and a giant speaker for example! Hope to welcome you again in the future.
Terrible customer service
Electric grass motorhome pitch (large)
Liked Nothing to like
Disliked The staff are severely lacking customer service skills. Staff were rude, tactless and aggressive. We pitched our tent slightly off the hardstanding as the pitch was poorly maintained and had a big dip where the hardstanding and grass met. . We were instructed to move it immediately(late afternoon)….. tomorrow was not an option. After some discussion we were offered a refund which we accepted as we felt we were not welcome at Hook Farm. Very disappointed as we had travelled from Bournemouth and were looking forward to a peaceful holiday. Luckily we found a far more friendly site in Weymouth with better facilities and cheaper. We have done a fair bit of camping and have never been so poorly treated.I would not recommend this site to anyone

From the manager: Thank you for review, One of my team who pitched you onto the hardstanding for your camper van asked you to move off the grass with your vehicle as heavy rain was due. The pitch is really popular as it has great views. We close in a few weeks for the winter where we get the opportunity to reseed and repair pitches after what has been a really busy season for us this year.
Perfect for a couple of nights.
Electric grass tent pitch (medium)
Liked The shower facilities were virtually brand new and 20p for 4 minutes an absolute bargain. First time using an electric hookup and a godsend on Saturday afternoon for drying out in front of the heater A lovely walk along the Lym into Lyme Regis which was buzzing on the Saturday. Thanks for a lovely short break, you might see us again!!!!
Disliked The weather was absolutely atrocious while we were pitching which was out of anyones control. Pitch (83) wasn’t the best, very uneven in places but adequate for our size of tent.

From the manager: Thank you for the great review of our park and Lyme Regis. The riverwalk down to Lyme is very popular with our guests. Sorry about the weather, hopefully it will be better on your next visit.
