  • Peaceful, family-friendly coastal location on a working alpaca farm
  • Bournemouth and the New Forest within 20 minutes' drive
  • Two minutes' walk from the River Stour and five from shops and pubs
Set on a working alpaca farm in the Dorset countryside, Snooks Farm Alpacas provides fun for all the family. Three miles from Ferndown and two minutes' walk from the River Stour, the free-range sheep and roaming goats will keep the kids entertained for hours – and there are free-range duck and chicken eggs for sale here too. There are plenty of nearby attractions for a week of adventure. You can spend the day exploring the seaside resort of Bournemouth or take in the spectacular views of the New Forest; both within 20 minutes' drive. Or, visit the Alice in Wonderland-inspired theme park Adventure Wonderland. A skiing and snowboarding activity centre is also only 10 minutes away, and Bournemouth airport is close by too (making this a handy pre-flight stay or base for the popular airshow). For food and drinks, the shops and pubs of West Parley are a five-minute walk away and barbecues are permitted on site. Dogs are not allowed on site.

Liked: So fantastic being able to see the animals on the farm, kids loved it. Camp-site wasn’t crowded, pitches nice and flat and the toilets clean.

Disliked: On flight path from airport but they don’t fly overnight so didn’t bother us too much.

Liked: We loved everything about this site! It was a real joy to see the Alpacas, Horses, Sheep, Goats, Chickens and Geese wandering around their enclosures as soon as we opened the van door. It's a kind of wild camping, with some wonderful bonuses!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: The animals were a nice addition. Quite a variety of animals to see. The couple were friendly and informative, on arrival and we were left to our own devices which we like. I booked the wrong date but they allowed me to change the date fuss free, despite it being my fault. Lots of nice places to walk and local amenities easy to reach.

Disliked: It is on the flight path very near the airport so can be noisy

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: This was our second stay at Snooks Farm. Fantastic stay as it was the Air Festival and with the airport just down the road we had some fantastic views of the planes taking off or coming in to land the highlight was the Lancaster banking right over the camping field so low you could almost see the pilots. The Alpaca and other animals were as lovely as always. Lovely level site. The ground can be hard if it’s not rained for a few days. So recommend rock pegs. As an added bonus, the owners have now built some toilets in the camping field. This site is fantastic if you have children with you as they will love the animals. Ten minute walk to a big Lidl or a small Tesco as well as the curlew pub and a couple of garden centres with nice cafes.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Liked: A nice little site/field with a wonderful array of animals. Lovely friendly people - we would gladly go again. There were no facilities, but they were installing some loos the day we left. The Alpaca's were adorable and we woke up with Llamas surrounding our van!! There is a pub at the end of the road and a Lidl/Tesco round the corner.

Non-electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: The site is lovely and peaceful with plenty of animals and birds to watch. The cleanly that run the site are very pleasant and helpful. Great location with a lovely pub not far away and shops less than a 10 min walk.

Disliked: The only thing was that the waste disposal point seemed to be either full or blocked which for us was ok but if we had stayed longer it may have caused a problem as there is no toilets on the site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The new disposal unit was only put in on the Thursday and unfortunately some loverly campers blocked it up then cut the hose pipes and stole the connections. Nothing was said so we didn't know there was an issue until we went around for our checks. Toilets are just being installed and the elso point will be redone to prevent this happening again
