General

  • Rural site with abundant wildlife including birds, rabbits and deer
  • Bar/restaurant, wifi and shop on site
  • Four miles from beaches and South West Coast Path

Deer, owls, rabbits and woodland birds should all be joining you on a stay at wildlife-laden Warmwell Caravan Park, so you might want to bring your binoculars.

It was ok...person on reception was friendly and it's close to places we like to visit. The water was hot. Wild rabbits by our van.

    Disliked:

Pitches got very water logged. Quite close to road so you can hear road noise. The shower/loo i used which was on its own away from main block was pretty dirty. We were there 3 days/2 nights and it hdnt been cleaned once! No soap in dispenser for all that time. You have to pay for Wi-Fi.

What a wonderful site, friendly, quiet & not far from loads of destinations. The bar was great & the food tasty. We will be going back next year.

    Disliked:

The only thing i would say that was a slight dislike was the distance to the toilet block from where we were pitched, but we did have our own for emergencies.

Very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble! As I had pulled in at a difficult angle for the gate I needed, the manager towed van on to pitch with his tractor, which had a lesser turning circle! Wifi reception was good, toilet block was clean and tidy, nothing to dislike at all! We are most likely to return!

Very wet area on slope near pitch 61 - we needed the manager and his tractor to get our caravan out of the mud when pitching up - but this was done extremely promptly!

Really peaceful, lovely facilities (great showers with no queues is a bonus for me!), lovely washing up area with laundry facilities and iron! I arrived very late so missed anyone welcoming me. I pitched my tent in the dark in a random spot and in the morning they were absolutely fine about it! I was enroute from Newquay to Surrey so my car was packed tight. They made me a cup of tea so I didn't have to unpack to find my stove and teabags! I borrowed a mallet off a fellow camper also to prevent delving! Everyone I met was chatty and friendly guests and staff alike. I was delighted to see a hedgehog and a couple of wild rabbits on my night trip to the toilet. We camped amongst trees which was lovely. I'd definitely come again. Extra bonus was that Weymouth carnival was on so we went into town to check that out. Hot tip to use the Park n Ride instead of trying to find a parking space! Altogether a lovely almost 24 hours in the area!

Local attractions

You can access the splendid South West Coast Path nearby on its highly scenic stretch to Weymouth in one direction and Lulworth Cove in the other: tackle both walks if you can, as each is tiptop.

There's loads to do around the area if you're here with kids, including chattering with the inhabitants of Monkey World six miles away, chuffing along to the Bovington Tank Museum (seven miles), and seeing the mute swans at Abbotsbury Swannery and Botanical Gardens (12 miles).

Family-friendly fossil hunting can be dug into at Lulworth Cove, eight miles away; Weymouth 10 miles away is a top option for safe family swimming.

Scuba divers should investigate Chesil Cove 12 miles away, part of the 18-mile long Chesil beach that makes up one of the three biggest shingle structures in Britain. Fishing from the cove and in the sea is also a popular pick from here.

For a spot of history, trek along to the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum (eight miles), or to 11th-century Corfe Castle 15 miles away, high on the Isle of Purbeck.

Boat trips to Brownsea Island can be accessed from Poole Harbour, 20 miles away.
