What customers say
Moonfleet Farm is highly praised for its spacious, level pitches, exceptionally friendly and helpful owners, and beautiful countryside location. Visitors appreciate the clean, well-maintained facilities, including unique shepherd hut showers, and the peaceful atmosphere. It's described as ideal for families, with animals, swings, and plenty of space to play. The site is also a great base for exploring the local area, with a pub a short walk away. Some minor points mentioned include occasional issues with farm dogs roaming and the need for more separate toilets during busy periods.

Great trip away with family and friends and we would happily return.
Electric optional grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great size electric pitches with plenty of space, kept with the rustic feel being on a farm. Owners were very helpful, friendly and relaxed. Amenities were good and a very enjoyable stay. Also a games room which we didn't make use of as all the kids were just happy playing. Tree swings the kids also liked to.
Disliked Toilets that had the showers in were very busy during peak times. Would be helpful to just have a couple more Toilets without showers for people needing a pee. Also on our stay the pool was fully booked over 4 nights so we couldn't get a look in on that. Would be better if there was 2 hour times lots to allows others the option of being able to use this facility. An enclosed dog field for them to run off lead would also be amazing addition.

Electric optional grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked Compact and small campsite with no noise after 9. It was a great pitch, lots of room, space to play badminton and still park the car! Great fire grate supplied and a supply of wood brought round every evening! Ten minute walk to the lovely nearby pub - the fox inn. Dog friendly.
Disliked All good, maybe milk and eggs could be available to avoid a big trek to the shop

Liked Such a great campsite. Plenty of room, beautiful site
Disliked Only thing is that it said wood could only be bought onside but we couldn't find anywhere so we couldn't have a campfire

From the manager: Thanks for your review.
We're sorry about the firewood, we drive round every evening and you weren't at your pitch.
Had you called, we would have dropped some down to you.
We asked campers to stop bringing their own wood when we had a problem with nails, staples, screws etc being left on the ground (ending up in tyres and feet!)

Electric optional grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked Really enjoyed staying on a working farm, site was busy and had moments of peace and quiet but also an active atmosphere.
Disliked Although it stayed quiet time after 9pm some groups were still very loud late into the night.
Will take into account its a working farm at busy time of year but it did not feel the cleanest it could be and on one day there was no hot water . (Probably due to it being busy)

From the manager: Thanks for your review, Daniel.
We hope our campers will respect the 'quiet time', but if there's a problem, we are very happy to have a word with noisier guests.
We can't hear from the farmhouse and need a call to let us know if this is the case.
Our heating and hot water is fuelled by a biomass boiler which occasionally breaks down. When working, it easily copes with the demands of the campsite, farmhouse and holiday cottage.
Facilities are regularly checked, but only as clean as left by the last user.
There's a sign in each shower room asking for guests to contact us with any problems.
Pitches are not totally level but lovely and spacious

Disliked Is too quite not really campsite with family and kids.. friendly

From the manager: We consider this to be a very unfair review. The guests disliked our site for being too quiet, although we market as a farm-based, rural site.
This was probably our worst experience of inconsiderate campers.
Having arrived en masse their children ran riot across neighbouring pitches. The group (3 pitches) communicated from their pitches across the campsite with megaphones, despite there being other campers present and we had three complaints within a short time of their arrival.
They were relocated to a private area where they were less likely to upset other campers and had use of picnic benches free of charge (an area frequently requested by our regular camping groups).
Clearly not the site for this group!
