  • Family-owned site in Parley Green, close to Bournemouth Airport
  • A 15-minute drive from Christchurch and Bournemouth town centres
  • Riverside location by the Stour; fishing available with a licence
Plane spotting from your pitch? Parley Court Camping is in Parley Green, just to the south of Bournemouth Airport, putting it in a fabulous location for those who love the thrill of being close to planes flying overhead from time to time. (Concerned about what that means for sleeping? Don’t worry – Bournemouth is certainly not one of the world’s busiest airports.) Can’t get enough of those engines? Take a trip to the nearby Bournemouth Aviation Museum, which is about 15 minutes’ walk from the site and offers the chance to sit in the cockpit of vintage planes. And that’s not the only attraction within walking distance – it’s a similar length of stroll to a go-kart track and a kids’ theme park. Even closer to home, you may like to spend some time fishing in the Stour river from the site’s own riverbank (contact Ringwood & District Anglers Association in advance for a licence). Look a little further afield and you’ll have heaps of excellent days out to choose from – it’s about a 15-minute drive from here to the New Forest National Park, Bournemouth beach and the historic harbour town of Christchurch, for starters. This relaxed site is small in scale and has a fairly back-to-basics approach to camping, but toilet and shower facilities are available, along with a chemical disposal point and washing-up area. You’ll also be able to buy essentials at the on-site shop or head next door to the golf club for meals and drinks at the licensed café-bar (or a round of golf, of course…).

What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Guests praise the clean toilet and shower facilities, and the convenience of the on-site golf club cafe. Bell tents are a popular choice, often coming pre-setup with bedding. Proximity to the airport is noted, with planes providing entertainment for some, though others found the noise disruptive. The car-free policy and limited trolleys for luggage transport are a recurring point, with some suggesting more trolleys. Occasional issues with hot water in the washing-up area and mattresses in bell tents have been mentioned.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked I took my two little girls on camping for first time in their live and was very apprehensive initially. I only booked two nights initially thinking if things don't work out we will leave soon, but we all loved it so much that we ended up staying a third night in our tent. The place is next to a golf club and an airport. Kids enjoyed seeing airplanes everyday. Site has drinking water taps in open field, utensils cleaning area, toilets and showers. All fine for the stay. The host, Kira is absolutely amazing and very helpful. She was there every now and then helping and talking to people. The site has enough trolleys which really helped to carry stuff from the car park to the pitch. Car park is only a minute walk from the camping area and you can even see your car. We really loved the firepit we got and kids enjoyed toasted marshmellows every night. Also there are good sandy beaches near by, one is the Sobo Beach and the other we went to was the Boscombe Beach. Both amazing around 15-20mins from the campsite. It is worth bringing duvets and warm clothes as it does get really cold night time, even if the day temperatures are around 25 degrees. All in all we loved it and we will be back some time in the near future.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great location, I explored so much without having to drive too far. The site is well spaced out. There were enough toilets and showers and they were clean. Having the bar and cafe at the golf club is a great bonus. Adrian was friendly and responded quickly. I really liked it at Parley

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Able to choose own pitch, all areas fairly flat and plenty of options. Good location for access to beaches. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Planes as mentioned on their site not really an issue at all and Grandchildren loved seeing them go over.

Disliked I was aware of a 'humming' (?) perhaps generator that runs all night. My son (in his thirties) was not aware of it at all so likely most people would be fine with it. Not anything to do with the campsite itself so no blame whatsoever on them.

Local attractions

Anyone who’s enjoyed catching sight of planes flying overhead will surely want to pay a visit to Bournemouth Aviation Museum (15 minutes’ walk) for a hands-on experience that might involve climbing into the cockpit of one of the planes on display. And that’s not the only attractions within walking distance – you can also get some speed up at South Coast Karting (15 minutes) or try out the kid-friendly rides at Adventure Wonderland (20 minutes). There’s plenty more activity within a short drive, too – perhaps the downhill challenges of Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre (10 minutes' drive) or the numerous outdoor options at Moors Valley Country Park & Forest (15 minutes), including cycle trails, mini golf and a Go Ape adventure park. The New Forest National Park is also full of options, whether you fancy a quiet walk to spot the deer and ponies or prefer the idea of bouncing across the inflatables at New Forest Water Park (20 minutes). Elsewhere nearby, you could take a gentle stroll along the waterfront at Christchurch Harbour or hit the sandy beach in Bournemouth (both 15 minutes).
