  • Peaceful adults-only and dog-friendly site with complimentary firepits
  • A 15-minute walk to a cider farm; 15 minutes' drive to beaches
  • Little on-site shop with fresh coffee and bacon sandwiches
Lace up your hiking boots and pack up your beach gear, for Pineapple Farm Holidays is an adults-only site on a family-run farm within the countryside of the Dorset National Landscape. The site is set next to a small business park in some converted farm buildings 15 minutes' drive from Bridport and West Bay beach, so it is also in a prime location for days out by the coast. There's lots to look forward to at this place, whether it's the wildlife and picnic area (private and only for guests) or the apple orchard (accessible to all). Dogs are asked to be kept on the lead while around the pitches, but they're welcome to run off the lead in the orchard. All of the pitches have water, electricity and their very own firepit. From Pineapple Farm Holidays, it's easy to get stuck right into beaches with fossils and stunning views, including West Bay and Eype beach, both within a 15-minute drive. For any cravings, there is a country pub is under one and a half miles away (a 25-minute walk), dishing up fresh food. If you're still thirsty, the cider farm and vineyard (on the route back to the site) should have something for you. You can also drive five minutes south to stock up on local produce at the local farm shop. You need go no further, but you definitely will... Campfires are welcome in the complimentary firepits provided, and barbecues are welcome as long as they are raised from the ground. Pineapple Farm Holidays is part of Pineapple Estate, which includes the site, as well as a farm, a shop, a business park and self storage.

What customers say

This is a highly recommended, peaceful, adults-only campsite in a beautiful rural location, ideal for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Visitors praise the exceptionally clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff, and spacious, well-maintained pitches, many with water and electric. The on-site shop and orchard dog run are popular. Access involves narrow country lanes. Minor points raised include occasional Wi-Fi issues and the need for more shower facilities.

Honeysuckle electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The closeness to Bridport but still quiet and with beautiful views. Loved the shop which was well stocked and the Orchard where we could take our dogs to run and play off lead. The site was clean and had everything you could wish for. Liked that your water was available at every pitch, no carrying heavy containers for any distance.

From the manager: Thank you so much for the complimentary review. We are so glad you enjoyed the site and hope you will return.

Liked Peaceful environment
Good size pitch for us and we were late to book so likely took the last pitch available
Clean toilets & showers
Friendliness of the staff throughout our stay
Close to Bridport

Disliked Shower was hot and difficult to control to get the right temperature

From the manager: We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and had a pitch that suited your needs.
We did have a problem with the right hand showers during your stay and replaced two on the morning they were reported to us. This seems to have solved the problem but I'm sorry it inconvenienced you.
We look forward to welcoming you again.

Liked It is such a lovely site. Lovely staff. So helpful with everything.
We arrived Sunday and the site, really quiet. Peaceful. Lovely. I love the fact that the showers are separate and you can change the temperature. Best shower I’ve had camping.

Disliked Nothing really.

Clover electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The Orchard is a lovely place to exercise dogs off lead, and apples are free when in season. Close to cider farm which has great food and music on Saturday evenings. The owners and staff are all exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Great Paninni’s and bacon/sausage sandwiches. Coffee also excellent. Practical shop selling great selection of what you are likely to need and local produce. Fire pits provided.

Disliked Showers were electric difficult to get constant hot water temperature, also a little narrow.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad you enjoyed you morning coffee and bacon sandwich.

We have replaced a couple of the showers in the past days as customers mentioned they thought the thermostats were failing. Hopefully this will help with the problem going forward but we apologise that it inconvenienced you for your stay.

We look forward to welcoming you again.

Local attractions

Head to West Bay (15 minutes' drive) for a first glimpse of the world-famous coastline; you'll get even better views on a boat cruise round the cliffs, or try kayaking it yourself. Abbotsbury (half an hour) is a popular spot to start walking the shingle airstrip-cum-sandbar that forms famous Chesil Beach. Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre (25 minutes) has fine examples of the fossils found nearby, including the Sea Dragon (an icthyosaur, in fact) unearthed in 2016. It's also the starting point for guided fossil hunts and rockpool rambles... you could come home with an icthyosaur of your own... West Bay lies on the mighty 680-mile South West Coast Path, but fret not, you don't have to walk it all. A trip round to the old lookout point of Thorncombe Beacon makes a pleasant ramble, especially as there's a pub at the end, or you could drive to Stonebarrow Hill (25 minutes) and explore the Golden Cap, a clifftop wilderness populated by peregrine falcons and butterflies. For diehard townies, there's a market selling something (vinyl or vintage, antiques and organics) in Bridport (15 minutes) almost daily and elegant Lyme Regis (half an hour) looks like a film set, especially when the fog rolls in.
