  • Peaceful adults-only and dog-friendly site with complimentary firepits
  • A 15-minute walk to a cider farm; 15 minutes' drive to beaches
  • Little on-site shop with fresh coffee and bacon sandwiches
Lace up your hiking boots and pack up your beach gear, for Pineapple Farm Holidays is an adults-only site on a family-run farm within the countryside of the Dorset National Landscape. The site is set next to a small business park in some converted farm buildings 15 minutes' drive from Bridport and West Bay beach, so it is also in a prime location for days out by the coast. There's lots to look forward to at this place, whether it's the wildlife and picnic area (private and only for guests) or the apple orchard (accessible to all). Dogs are asked to be kept on the lead while around the pitches, but they're welcome to run off the lead in the orchard. All of the pitches have water, electricity and their very own firepit. From Pineapple Farm Holidays, it's easy to get stuck right into beaches with fossils and stunning views, including West Bay and Eype beach, both within a 15-minute drive. For any cravings, there is a country pub is under one and a half miles away (a 25-minute walk), dishing up fresh food. If you're still thirsty, the cider farm and vineyard (on the route back to the site) should have something for you. You can also drive five minutes south to stock up on local produce at the local farm shop. You need go no further, but you definitely will... Campfires are welcome in the complimentary firepits provided, and barbecues are welcome as long as they are raised from the ground. Pineapple Farm Holidays is part of Pineapple Estate, which includes the site, as well as a farm, a shop, a business park and self storage.

What customers say

This peaceful, adults-only campsite offers spacious, well-maintained pitches with electric and water. Facilities are consistently praised as clean and modern, including excellent showers. Guests highlight the friendly, helpful staff and the well-stocked on-site shop. The quiet location provides beautiful countryside views and direct access to walks, with local pubs and attractions a short drive away. The orchard is a particular hit with dog owners. Some reviews mention narrow access roads, intermittent Wi-Fi, and occasional noise from other guests or facilities, though these are generally minor points.

Honeysuckle electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Showers were great, and toilets were very clean, staff were very friendly, pitches were well looked after. Excellent wifi, and loved having drinking water tap next to the tent. Nice views, and a very peaceful location.

Disliked Would have been nice if the shop could open a bit earlier, say 8am. When campsite is full, pitches opposite us seemed a little close, but wasn’t a problem.
Electric hand dryer very noisy (which is deactivated at night), would have been nice to have hand towels.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we are glad you found lots of positives in your stay and would recommend the site.

We often consider the best opening times for the shop and have settled on opening at 9 to enable us to stay open that bit later into the evening when people are back from their days out and ready for a beer around the camp fire.

If you were to return again you may wish to choose one of our larger pitches which are more spacious and therefore create larger gaps between yourselves and other guests.

Foxglove electric grass pitch

Liked Stunning location and wonderfully quiet. The grounds are immaculate and each pitch is a decent size, more than enough to not feel cramped in.
Lovely off-lead area for the dogs and again, immaculately maintained.
Very handy couple of freezers of decent size so everyone is able to use it.

Disliked The toilet and shower blocks are on the smaller size, although very clean and maintained, the size brought my rating down.

Even though the site does give you directions once you get to the local village, in order to avoid the tiny local single track roads; Google Maps & Waze didn’t take us anywhere near the village and through the tiny (tiny!!) single track roads.

I do recommend getting a post code within the village & find a setting to avoid all single track roads (if you can!)

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We totally agree! We always suggest guests don't rely on satnavs as you run the risk of lots of narrow lanes. Find Bridport first then Salway Ash and you'll only have to deal with a quarter of a mile of single track (with passing places.) We like to think it's worth it once you get here!

Clover electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely site, friendly staff

Disliked Noisey neighbors not adhering to the rules on being quiet after 10pm. They decided to keep drinking and causing noise. As in really loud. The orchard was nice apart from inconsiderate dog owners not picking up

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: It's great to hear you enjoyed the site itself and felt welcomed here. We are sorry to hear that your neighbours were noisy, it's unusual that we have that problem as most guests understand we are a quiet site but we are always happy to remind people if we know about any problems.
We do hope you will visit again.

Local attractions

Head to West Bay (15 minutes' drive) for a first glimpse of the world-famous coastline; you'll get even better views on a boat cruise round the cliffs, or try kayaking it yourself. Abbotsbury (half an hour) is a popular spot to start walking the shingle airstrip-cum-sandbar that forms famous Chesil Beach. Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre (25 minutes) has fine examples of the fossils found nearby, including the Sea Dragon (an icthyosaur, in fact) unearthed in 2016. It's also the starting point for guided fossil hunts and rockpool rambles... you could come home with an icthyosaur of your own... West Bay lies on the mighty 680-mile South West Coast Path, but fret not, you don't have to walk it all. A trip round to the old lookout point of Thorncombe Beacon makes a pleasant ramble, especially as there's a pub at the end, or you could drive to Stonebarrow Hill (25 minutes) and explore the Golden Cap, a clifftop wilderness populated by peregrine falcons and butterflies. For diehard townies, there's a market selling something (vinyl or vintage, antiques and organics) in Bridport (15 minutes) almost daily and elegant Lyme Regis (half an hour) looks like a film set, especially when the fog rolls in.
