Fancy the sound of a Dorset farm with its own cider production and cosy restaurant – plus summer events (which you need to buy separate tickets for)? With views of the fably viewsome Jurassic Coast and Bride Valley, adults-only Bredy Farm is also close to beaches, the South West Coast Path, Bridport and Dorchester. You might fancy a pint or two of that, cheers. All these happenings are on a relaxed and friendly working farm with its own microbrewery and cider shed open to the public. It's set up for simple camping, for excellent cider and for parties, at its occasional weekend-long music events (extra charge). Guests pitch up in The Orchard or The Mead on either side of the river Bride. Facilities include running water, a basic cold-water area to wash pots and pans, three portable toilets, four composting toilets, three rustic shower units on The Mead (free to use) as well as two flushing toilets and two modern, high-quality coin-operated showers (located on the main farm). Certainly not basic are the offerings at the farm's Italian restaurant/café, which serves up plates of tasty homemade food, including proper Neapolitan-style pizzas (it's rightly popular so it's best to book ahead, especially if you're travelling in a group). From May to August, Bredy Farm is buzzing with energy. Every Friday and Saturday night, expect live music, DJs and a lively bar open until 2am. If you're after a quiet, peaceful country break, then you might want to visit in the midweek or out of the season – even then, Friday and Saturday still bring a party.

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
  • A charge of £1.00 applies for the use of the shower.
  • During the events (which do get lively, so please expect some noise) the site welcomes families with children within the festival arena. If you are part of a group, please specify the lead name in the 'special requests' in the booking form.

Liked Very calm relaxing atmosphere, with a great bar and pool that gets lively in the evenings.
Excellent restaurant. Plenty of portaloos and toilets and shows dotted about just ask someone if you can't find them .

Liked Nice country campsite. Lots of level pitches, some slightly sloping. Bonus having a restaurant on site.

Disliked Poor facilities - only two proper showers and three flushing toilets. There were 3 portaloos and composting toilets. Only one small washing up area - this is insufficient for a campsite of this size. Clear notices for people to keep the noise down after midnight - ignored by many campers

Liked Lovely quiet site, well kept camping area with patches of long wild grass.
Friendly staff. Nice and relaxed . Best nights sleep ever in the van, only heard birds & the stream.

Liked Tranquil quiet spot. Lovely grassy pitches with plenty of trees.
Staff were helpful with cooking a pizza which was delicious.

Disliked Could have done with a power socket available to charge devices even if not electric pitches.

Liked Fabulous quirky place. We stayed on grass in the Orchard field & it was really lovely and quiet. Just over the road was an amazing restaurant and bar; showers and even a swimming pool!

Liked It was an amazing campsite very alive the weekend is amazing as there is live music till about 2am. It was nice to be in an adults only camping for the first time. Definitely recommend it! Very close to the beach by going on a nice walk and also Bridport very close and such a lovely town!

Start off by going seawards: the nearest beach and the local stretch of Jurassic Coast are about a mile away in front of Bredy Farm's local village of Burton Bradstock, leading to the famed Chesil Beach. (The award-winning Hive café dishes up seafood in Burton Bradstock too.) If it's Jurassic Coast fossils you're after, the nearby Dinosaurland Fossil Museum in Lyme Regis has piles of specimens in its collection of local Jurassic marine fossils, so meander along here to see what you can sea. More fossily remains are in the Jurassic Coast gallery at nearby Bridport Museum. Piles of other things are around Bredy Farm to see and do, such as the village of Abbotsbury and its swannery, full-size construction machinery driving at Diggerland Devon, seaside towns like Charmouth and Weymouth, and exploring old buildings like Hardy's Cottage. If you're around to shop, local town Bridport has a vintage market on the last Sunday of every month. You might also like to try more of the fizzy stuff if you're around Bredy Farm for a cider weekend, so totter off to a couple of the boozy attractions in the area, such as the tastings and tours of Bridport's Palmer Brewery, founded in 1794, and sampling the sparkling and still wines of Furleigh Estate Wines, producing Dorset wine from its base at Salway Ash.
