  • Hilltop site with amazing views across Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset
  • A mile from Bulbarrow Hill; 45-minute drive to the Jurassic Coast
  • Simple site for cyclists and dog walkers; pub within a 15-minute walk
Westhill Camping at Bakers Folly is a small pop-up campsite with spectacular views from the hilltop camping field – reaching right across the countries of Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset. You can pick your own pitch on a spacious, grassy field, and as there are only a few tents allowed, you’ll never feel on top of your fellow guests. Remember to bring a torch as this back-to-basics spot has no lighting – you’ll have to rely on starlight at night. Amenities include an indoor toilet and shower, along with extra portable toilets. You can bring a barbecue from home, and there’s a designated cooking area in the camping field – please do not have a barbecue around your tent. Walking and cycling paths abound close to the site, so you can exercise your canine chums direct from the camping field. There are the remains of an Iron Age hill fort to stroll to on Bulbarrow Hill (a mile away) and you could be pottering around stately Stourhead House and Gardens in 40 minutes. It’s a 15-minute walk to a friendly country pub with locally sourced food, or you can pick up essentials at convenience stores in Okeford Fitzpaine (five minutes’ drive) or Shillingstone (10 minutes) – both have pubs too. If it’s a major stock up you’re after, you’d best head for Blandford Forum (20 minutes), with its shops and markets (Thursday and Saturday).
