Twelve Acres Dorset: Spacious motorhome pitches

General

  • Small rural campsite with spectacular sunsets and countryside views
  • Half an hour’s drive from Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast
  • Private woodland walk and access to public footpaths and bridleways

Twelve Acres Dorset is a scenic site sandwiched between a couple of areas of outstanding natural beauty: Dorset and Cranborne Chase. It’s a top place for unwinding in the countryside while being within driving distance of the Jurassic Coast.

Popular stretches of sand like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are half an hour by car from the park, a spot set in more than 10 acres of land overlooking meadows and woods.

You won’t need to go far to find areas for ambling around as there’s a private tree-lined walk on site and immediate access to a network of footpaths and bridleways. Set off on strolls, then return in time to see the sunset – they’re said to be spectacular hereabouts.

Wanders by the River Stour are also to be had from Blandford Forum (10 minutes’ drive), which is the spot for scooping up essentials from the local shops too. Fishing, horse riding and vineyard tours are a few of the other activities to try in the local area.

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

A quiet, secluded stay awaits everyone at Coombe Down Farm. The hosts are warm and welcoming, offering kind hospitality. As long as campers are aware of the lack of shower and toilet facilities, this is perfect for people looking for a quiet retreat and gazing at stars in the dark sky, free of light pollution.

Coombe Down Farm was the most picturesque, peaceful & relaxing Campsite on our recent Motorhome holiday. Louise & her Family were the perfect hosts, she even helped us organise a chinese takeaway delivered direct to our Vans, much appreciated after our long drive. All the children said it was their favourite campsite, they especially loved holding the chickens & the woodland walks. A lovely campfire & a few drinks were a great end to our evening. Thank you.

Spacious and quiet field with wonderful views. You can totally switch off. Really warm welcome by the owners with a small posy of fresh herbs which we used for our dinner. We purchased Chicken and duck eggs which we had the day after and those were the best eggs we’ve had!
The highlight was when the farmer brought us a ducking over to stroke :)

Highly recommend it. There are walks around which sadly we didn’t have time to explore.

Lovely space for children to roam and play. Beautiful sunsets with the added bonus of firepit loan that kept us toasty in the evenings. Very close to Monkey world and lulworth cove which we wanted to visit on a short drive to Cerne Abbas to see the giant. One of the best trips we've had made awesome by this lovely site. Our host was really lovely and welcoming too by bringing fresh herbs and chicken and duck eggs were on sale for breakfast. Perfect.
