Around the site

General

  • Semi-wild site on an eco fruit farm covering 62 acres of countryside
  • Rural setting 25 minutes’ drive to Exeter and 20 to the Jurassic Coast
  • Wildlife haven next to Woodbury Common for walks and birdwatching

Settle in at Sunnyhaye Fruit Farm for a simple, semi-wild camping experience on a site set in 62 acres of countryside on the edges of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As this place is a wildlife haven, guests share the space with roe deer, badgers, rabbits and field voles.

Keep your eyes peeled for birds as well as four-legged critters – buzzards, pheasants, house martins, swifts and swallows have all been spotted here too.

While you could spend days lying back in the field or wandering on Woodbury Common nearby, there’s much to do a little further afield as well. The park is 25 minutes’ drive from Exeter and its impressive cathedral, plus three excellent beaches – the sandy Exmouth and the pebbly Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth – are accessible in around 20 minutes.

For more wildlife spotting, head to Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve (35 minutes) or make tracks for the Wildwood Escot animal centre and Sidmouth Donkey sanctuary (15 and 20 minutes).

Portaloos and fresh drinking water are available on site.

Nice spot to spend a few days exploring nearby Woodbury common and villages. Lovely organic fruitfarm with apples and cider for sale. Facilities are basic with small toilet-block and running water. Very quiet with only us in the campervan in the field. Bliss!

Everything, beautiful setting, Organically produced cyder and apple juice available on site where its made. Excellent walks through the Orchards and woodland in order to see Deer.
Run by wonderful people Andrea is a lovely lady with a wealth of knowledge on the local wildlife while Peter's enthusiasm about the organic products he makes is contagious. His tour of the orchard showing us how to tell if the apples were ready to pick made our day, what he doesn't know about apples isn't worth knowing!!
    Definitely will go back here!!

Loved how spaced out the pitches were. Pete who runs the site was so helpful and always on hand for anything we needed. Pete also brews his own cider from the apple orchid on the site which was a lovely surprise. There is a communal fire pit in the centre of the site which is great to get to know people and also for kids to toast marshmallows over in the evening. Great location, short bike ride to the beach and a beautiful view of the sunset every evening. Would definitely go back!

Uneven ground in pitching up area, loads of groves, didn’t sleep very well. Payment system slightly inconvenient - bank transfer on arrival (which might not work due to internet connection or if you haven’t had your bank card on hands)
