It’s a stonkingly safe bet that any site listed as having an ‘infrared therapy cabin’ is going to be one where you can relax and get away from it all. Woodovis Park, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Devon/Cornwall border, has this in spades: relaxed but with Devon delights just on the doorstep, no road noise, splendid beaches within easy reach, plenty of active options nearby, a heated indoor pool and spa on site, and, the topping on the Devonshire cake – fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolat all baked daily for the licensed on-site shop. Activities on site include archery, waterwalking, visits from international storyteller Clive PiG once a week during school holidays, and twice-weekly circus skills workshops in high season. A wood-chipped play area and games room are there for the small people, as well as a nature trail, outdoor table tennis and a pétanque court to ping about on. Dogs will also have a barkingly good time here, as Woodovis is dog-friendly and has a dedicated dog walking area as well as Lower Meadow, the site's ‘specially for pups’ field where pooches can run off the lead. (There’s a dog-wash area on site too, although perhaps tails won’t be wagging too much at that.) Facilities at this safe, family-friendly and environmentally-friendly park include a free wifi zone in the games room and chargeable wifi available throughout, twinklingly clean loos and free hot showers, a parent and baby washroom, a launderette and – blessedly – a bath for soaks in blissful solitude. An additional individual toilet is in the Tamar View Field. A traditional pub with good food is around half a mile’s walk away, but if you don't want to stray that far, a variety of pop-up kitchens and bars are available on site throughout high season. But back to that therapy cabin. The infrared rays here are used as part of a targeted deep heat treatment to warm the back’s blood vessels – soothe all your non-holiday stresses here before splashing about in the heated pool with the family or taking in a bit more relaxation in the spa room. Well, you can never have too much relaxing…

Liked Liked everything, the location, the caravan was good, clean and well equipped. The pool, great to pop into for an hour. Friendly helpful staff.

Disliked Don't think there is anything 🙈 maybe just a few more things in the shop.

Super fully-serviced gravel pitch

Liked Location great, facilities compact and beautifully kept. Pool and spa just right after long walks and bike rides. Staff and shop perfect Halloween party well organised and genuine. We will return.
We visited the Wheal mines, Copper Penny Farm shop was excellent, Morwellham, drove to Cawsand for rockpooling and cycled everywhere from the lanes from site to Granite Way. We ate at The Dartmoor Arms which was good and The Duke which was excellent pub grub after Wheal bike ride. Had the obligatory photo in Cornwall as on border!

Liked The peace and quiet, spacious pitches and surroundings.
We had some lovely walks, but otherwise you have to drive e.g Tavistock is too far to walk.

Disliked The WiFi was terrible on our pitch and when we did get WiFi it was extremely slow.

Super Finch 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked Lovely peaceful park that is kept in fantastic condition with amazing friendly staff, free use of a clean and well maintained pool area. The filtered borehole water tastes good to drink. The innovative use of the old telephone box as a place to view maps of local walks. The hose for washing muddy boots and the pizza huts were a great touch. Also, great value for money.

Disliked We had a power outage during one of the days of our stay so we couldn't light the oven. It would have been handy to have a separate igniter

Liked This is a super site, very friendly team - with fantastic facilities and immaculately kept.
We loved the location - which meant easy access to the Tamar trails close to the site (we walked, but if you have children I’d advise taking a car)

Disliked My only request would have been for more than one loo in the touring park. (There are more further up the park)

Tamar-View electric gravel pitch

Liked The site is very well planned out and is very very well maintained. They have thought of everything. The pool is great, games room, pizza oven, dog bath, all fab facilities.

Disliked The sauna could have been hotter. I understand it is low temp, however I have been in low temp saunas before that I could actually break a sweat in, this one seemed like it wasn't working correctly.

Tamar-View electric gravel pitch

Liked Everything! We stayed only one night and unfortunately in the rain but this is one of the best, if not the best, site we have stayed on. Very well laid out and maintained. Peaceful. Friendly, smart and helpful staff. Pitches are spacious. They really have thought of everything and I am sad we didn’t get to use most of the facilities. There is even a pizza oven for campers. You can buy a movie night deal of a pizza and popcorn from their popcorn maker in the shop. There is a snack shack with all sorts of goodies and hot dogs etc. the pool looked really lovely but I didn’t have time to use it. There is a dogwash and dog walking area. Everything very smart and clean. I would highly recommend and definitely would stay again.
