Off to Dartmoor National Park for walking and cycling by day, stunning stargazing by night? Use Tavistock Camping and Caravanning Club Site as your base – it's in a lovely spot about five minutes' drive from the town (handy for shops and places to eat) and surrounded by gorgeous countryside. It's an excellent location for hikers – and an even better one for cyclists, who can join National Cycle Route 274 (Ilfracombe to Plymouth) just 200 yards from the site. There are also several National Trust properties nearby to visit, and it's about a 40-minute drive to the many attractions of Plymouth. This spacious site is managed by the Camping and Caravanning Club, with both members and non-members welcome. Members benefit from a discounted rate (the price shown here) so make sure you select the correct membership option when booking. Facilities include a play area, a shop, a launderette and two large enclosed dog walk areas for your travelling pets. The smart modern bathrooms include a parent-and-baby room and wheelchair-accessible facilities.

  • At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
  • Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
  • No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Group bookings of 6 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
  • Single-sex bookings of 4 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • If you are a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club please provide your membership number in the "Special Requests" box in the booking form. Membership will be verified on arrival.
