Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Absolutely nothing

Disliked: No one at reception just a phone number to call after 5 minutes calling was told to pick a pitch. No security at all, anyone can come and go as they please, cars in and out pretty much all night, screams, music and chatting way past 3am and of course drinking and smoking weed. Please stop advertising this site as family friendly.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: It was a quiet site in the day.

Disliked: Residents were loud until early hours, we left a day early as we didn't sleep our first night. Was recommended to pitch by the hedge but was basically on the road and constantly heard cars. All the female toilets had poo smeared on the walls, didn't use shower facilities as we up and left early. The man in the shop was lovely and tried to accommodate for those staying on camp, didn't personally talk to the female manager but witnessed her arguing with a family that were also staying onsite and leaving early due to the noise level being unacceptable at early hours. The children's play park was also in an unacceptable condition, the climbing frame was wooden and broke, the second level not sturdy at all. Residents also had dogs off lead around the site.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Not much at all other than unlimited space for pitch.

Disliked: Toilets/shower block either not working quite old. Felt unmanaged threwout. Party till gone 12am / domestic arguments with loud music, alcohol and whatever else... ongoing till 4.45 am. Electric bike being rode in-between tents with young children playing. Not being managed. Playground equipment not sturdy. Felt more suited to adult only activities not family trips.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Price per night. Beaches not far

Disliked: Tents are allowed to pitch up wherever, the area isn’t that big and people were selfish with the angling of tents. The toilets always had no toilet paper and limited soap, and not the cleanest, only 1 shower.

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked: The area.

Disliked: Dirty WC Dirty Showers Never saw any staff during our visit gates open from early morning until late at night. Be very careful moving around site with your caravan as it is very narrow. Others have hit the WC we were OK thanks to another holiday maker warning us. Kids running a muck spraying water everywhere from the waste water area, kids running over the hedges. Kids trying to break the swing set

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked: Nothing.

Disliked: The campsite is poorly run, not clean or well maintained at all. Toilets are absolutely filthy, electricity kept going off. There was a huge problem with the older children that live on the site who thought it was funny to go around bullying the younger ones. They were vaping in the park and being nasty and aggressive to the point one of them broke my sons scooter. The owners did nothing about all of this and would not offer any compensation or refund. I would not recommend this site to anyone especially with young children. Many people left and lost there money because they refused to stay at this poorly run filthy campsite. Don't waste your money visiting here. Pay extra and stay somewhere decent and clean.

Local attractions

It’s 10 minutes’ drive from here to Buckfast Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery dating back to 1018; get cultural here then balance it out with an offbeat activity like a trip to the House of Marbles in the small town of Bovey Tracey (under 15 minutes away) for the mesmerising glass displays, games museum and pottery pieces. For urban times in a bigger settlement, Exeter’s 30 minutes away – skedaddle here to tour the cathedral and the city centre’s underground passages; high-street shopping is also excellent in Devon’s capital on the River Exe. Also on the water, Plymouth is 35 minutes south if you fancy checking out the famed spot where the Pilgrim fathers first left for the US on the Mayflower in 1620...
