General

  • Peaceful, secluded and relaxing site on the north Devon coast
  • Well-stocked private fishing lake
  • Close to beaches, coast path and Exmoor National Park

Off to Devon for watery pursuits? Mill Park Touring Caravan and Camping Park has a well-stocked private fishing lake on site, and is only a mile or so from the north Devon surf spot of Ilfracombe. Both sand and pebble beaches are also within a short walk – and there's a bar on site too, for chilling out with a cool post-activity beer while looking out over the Mill Park stream.

Mill Park is a sheltered site suited to families and couples, in a pretty valley on the north Devon coast and surrounded by woodland for woody walks (yep, dogs are welcome to join in such pursuits too). Want to walk a bit further? The park is close to trails in the Exmoor National Park, as well as the north Devon section of the South West Coast Path. Run out of leg power? A gentle five-minute stroll will land you in the nearest village, Berrynarbor, for a pint in the cosy pub.

As well as that fishing lake and the stream-facing bar, facilities at Mill Park include a play area, games room and a launderette. Gas bottle refills and ice pack hire are available and there's also a site shop.

The surroundings are good, with lots of trees.
Lakeside setting is attractive. Easy to find the site. Pitches were pretty level.

    Disliked:

Motorhome pitches were poor. Just dirt, covered in large, sharp stones, which ripped a hole in our awning. There's no sign of any drainage layer, so the pitch became muddy very quickly. Investment needed to improve pitch quality. The showers were horrible, with inadequate shelving in the cubicle and the hot water switched off after about 10 seconds, so you have to keep pressing the button! Laundry facilitates were expensive. Can't comment on the customer service as no staff member spoke to us at all during our stay.

The site setup was amazing, Peter one of the owners could not do enough to help very friendly, the shower and toilet blocks are very modern with non touch flushing and shower always clean. Watching the fish in the lake was cool.

    Disliked:

Some selfish people on the tent side of the site was congregating in large numbers even after the staff asked them not to. In these trying times following a few simple rules is not that hard.

The facilities were always clean and so nice. I usually dread having showers at some campsites due to how dirty some facilities can get but I never had any problems here. Everything was cleaned twice a day and there was never a wait for a shower. It was all modern and in full working order. The shop was well stocked and the site was close to some great beaches.
