  • Well-kept, spacious pitches at a rural Devon site near Holsworthy
  • Bude and Westward Ho! beaches within a half-hour drive
  • Dog-friendly pitches; barbecues permitted on site
Park yourselves on the pitches at Old Park Cottage Camping and you'll be not only in a peaceful rural Devon spot but also prime position for getting out and about to a whole host of attractions around the coast and countryside of north Devon and Cornwall. About 10 minutes' drive from the town of Holsworthy (a useful place to find shops and places to eat), this is a quiet site with simple and spacious pitches where you'll be able to light barbecues and relax in the fresh air. Facilities include well-maintained toilets, showers and a washing-up area, with solar panels providing eco-friendly energy. Dogs and kids are welcome to join you at this site, and you should be able to find plenty of ways to entertain both. There are lots of great walks nearby, either on country trails (including in the northern part of Dartmoor National Park) or along the South West Coast Path. Beaches are in good supply too, as are family attractions (the BIG Sheep and Milky Way Adventure Park are both about half an hour’s drive away).

Guests consistently praise the friendly and welcoming owner, Rick, and the site's beautiful rural location, ideal for relaxation. Liked My wife and I stayed in the Yurt and had an amazing stay—you will not be disappointed! It is completely peaceful, with thoughtful lighting for night time including lovely nightlights and a main light with a dimmer switch. Outside, there’s a small decking area that is beautifully lit up at night. The site facilities are brilliant. There are three well-maintained, clean toilets and two fantastic showers—I highly recommend using the shower located about 5 meters further inside the small barn! Having access to the communal area with kitchen appliances and a 24-hour small shop selling milk, chocolate drinks, and even barbecues was incredibly convenient. What made our trip truly special was the atmosphere and hospitality. At night, we could sit back and listen to the owls. Rick was the perfect host—so helpful, honest, and genuine. He even pulled out a bird-identifying app so we could learn which birds we were hearing singing! The location is ideal as well—only about 10 minutes into Holsworthy and an easy drive to the coast at Bude. We will definitely return, big thanks to the whole team at Old Park Cottage 🤪

Liked Great peaceful location; dark skies for stargazing; toilets and shower are excellent and the kitchen hut is super handy for a quick top up or to cool some food. Great host who is always by for any help or for a friendly chat. Great scenery around to relax in the peace and quiet.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely friendly, clean site.
We were first time campers having a tester night away. Didn’t really know what to expect but was very happily surprised. Toilet and shower block were very clean, lovely hot shower in the morning.
Handy hut with fridge, kettle, microwave etc.
Nothing was a problem, very helpful to point of helping/showing us how to put our tent up! For our first ever night camping we couldn’t ask for anything more! Will definitely be back.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Wonderful setting. The owner is working hard to improve an already delightful setting. Surrounded by lovely countryside, this is a small, peaceful campsite loaded with fabulous extras if you need them. Toilets and shower were immaculately clean, a cute little lodge set up with fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave, kettle and sockets to charge phones if you needed them. A little honesty shop was in the process of being set up and looks like it will be brilliant. The owner is friendly, helpful and full of local knowledge and suggestions if you want them. We never usually return to the same place twice, but we are looking to book for next year too.

Disliked Nothing!

Eric P. 1 review

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked This campsite was perfect; a hidden gem in the heart of Devon!

The owner, Rick, greeted us on arrival and we were able to pitch up wherever we wanted. There was only one other tent pitched during our weekend stay, and there was tons of space to pitch up and run around with the dog.

It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. You can hear the sounds of nature and nearby cattle as you fall asleep/wake up. There’s also a beautiful, quaint church one minute up the road.

Each day, Rick came to check everything was ok. He was really helpful and gave us a bunch of recommendations - will definitely have to come back again.

All the facilities were really nice, including well-kept toilets and a shower, and a separate hut with a fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle.

Despite other reviews, we also had no issues getting super fast 5G + service.

100% would recommend.
