General
- Family-friendly site in Devon’s spectacularly scenic Ruby Country
- A 10-minute drive from the surfing, beaches and shops of Bude
- Friendly farm animals, spinning lessons and dog grooming all on site
If you're seeking a Devon seaside and family break, you'll be mighty pleased to hear that Noteworthy Farm, five minutes’ drive from Holsworthy, is mighty noteworthy indeed.
The site falls within Devon’s Ruby Country (named for the area’s distinctive Ruby cattle), so when you’re ready to venture out expect some stunning vistas and scenic walks through peaceful countryside. For strolls with sea views, get in the car and travel the 10 minutes to Bude to join the South West Coast Path, trekking the 10 miles to Crackington Haven or, in the other direction, the 15 to Hartland Quay.
And if you decide not to venture off your Devon site during your hols? There’s plenty here to keep you entertained: meet the farm's Angora goats, miniature horses, ducks and chickens, sign up for lessons on how to spin mohair, poke around the farm shop for some mohair souvenirs… and if the family friend needs a break too, there’s even a dog groomer on site for a little pooch-pampering.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head into Holsworthy or towards the sea for some local cuisine (you should fish for top-notch seafood restaurants in Bude) or set that barbecue smouldering for eats outdoors. End the evening settled in next to your canine bestie, soaking up the countryside views over the fields.

Local attractions
The seaside resort town of Bude should be your first stop during your hols. As well as being a top surfing destination, it’s got plenty for those more comfortable on dry land: straddle the divide with some beach days, wander over to the castle, or meander along the Bude canal towpaths.
Sticking to the coast, the stunning village of Clovelly (half an hour away) is an absolute must: it’s privately owned, car-free and practically begging to be photographed, so make haste with camera in hand.
Bribe kids who remain unimpressed by the scenic village with stops at the nearby Milky Way or Big Sheep family amusement parks, then drag them to experience some vintage vibes with a day among the merry go rounds, dodgems and traditional games at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, half an hour from the site.
If you want to get some clean country air into those lungs, you’re 45 minutes from the edge of Dartmoor National Park, and RHS Garden Rosemoor and the Gnome Reserve and Wildife Garden are within half an hour. A little further afield, try the Eden Project (an hour away) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (an hour and 20 minutes).
