Small, adults-only and family-run – The Paddocks Certified Location is a lovely rural retreat that’s reserved for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club.
The well-kept grass pitches at this Devon site make an excellent base for a break in this part of the world. The site is in the pretty Teign Valley, tucked just inside the eastern boundary of Dartmoor National Park – and as such it’s very well placed for walks and other outdoor activities in scenic surroundings.
Riverside, moorland and woodland trails are all easily accessed from here – and you may also be interested to hear about the 10-minute walk that takes you to the local pub in the village of Christow. Other nearby villages like Dunsford and Bridford also have pubs and shops, and you’re not far from the market towns of Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead (both about 20 minutes’ drive away).
Exeter is less than half an hour away for more urban outings, and the seaside towns and beaches of the English Riviera are also about half an hour away. Handily, the site is very close to a bus route for jaunts via public transport.
Back on site, you’ll be staying on spacious and well-maintained pitches that are designed for self-contained touring vehicles (there’s a chemical disposal point and drinking water tap here, but no toilets or showers). Well-behaved dogs are very welcome to join you for a stay here.
Keen to go fishing while you’re here? The family that run the site can provide game fishing rights on the River Teign, and there’s more fishing available at nearby reservoirs.
