Coming to Croyde for some beach time? You'll be in prime position when you stay at Bay View Farm – this long-established family-run site is a few minutes' walk from the village’s splendid sandy beach, with its surf waves and rockpools. And that's not all, because you’ll be able to soak up sea views while you’re on site as well (they’re particularly fabulous at sunset…). This site has been in operation for many happy years, so the team that run it are clearly doing things pretty well – the site has won several awards over the years, and has plenty of guests that come back to their favourite spot year after year. The location is a big draw, of course, with the village’s collection of shops, pubs and places to eat just a short walk away and the beach just down the road. It’s also easy to get out for a walk on the South West Coast Path, and a bus stop just outside the farm means straightforward jaunts by public transport to several other North Devon hotspots. But it's not all about the setting here, because owners Janet and George have put heaps of effort into making sure the facilities are top notch too. Bathroom blocks have plenty of toilets, free hot showers, family rooms and accessible facilities, and there's a launderette and a separate area for washing wetsuits. A large purpose-built play area is well away from any roads, and a small shop opens up at reception in high season. Ice pack freezing and phone charging are available for a small charge, with all proceeds going to local charities.

Liked Clean, friendly staff. Good amount of facilities, family focused, yet quiet at night too. Choice of pitch in the non electric area. (Chargeable) Sockets in the bathroom area l. Fantastic views. Close to everything we needed. Good sized children's play area

Disliked WiFi was an extra charge of needed.
Pizza and chips available on site (not fantastic)-a short walk into croyde and really good pizza and chips for a few pound more.
My daughter would love it if the zip line could be a bit higher off the ground.

Liked Brilliant views, fantastic facilities -
(toilets, showers and dish washing area) with some great onsite additions such as the chip shop, pizza shop and coffee and crepe vendor.

Disliked A little far from the loos if you’re up the top but that’s a personal preference as I have chrons and mobility issues.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Campsite is super close to the beach - only around a five minute walk - and also within walking distance of lovely pubs, a village shop and ice cream shop. The owners are very friendly and check in was easy despite arriving late evening after driving down after work. We also had fish and chips from the on site takeaway which were excellent. Toilets and showers were kept spotless and great dish washing and wetsuit rinsing facilities. Overall a fantastic stay and we’ll definitely be returning, thank you!

Fully-serviced grass pitch

Liked Clean and well maintained site, you get a sea view from the pitches and a relaxing time was had. Showers had good pressure. Shame it wasn’t near the shops in Croyde as their own shop had very little supplies. Overall a lovely stay and would come back

Liked Proximity to beach and pubs good.

Disliked You only get the bay view if you are at the top of the site. No one was sited up there. Toilets and showers dated but clean and tidy.
Pizza bit closed but didn’t find that out till after stood in queue for 15 mins.

Liked Quiet, peaceful campsite, lovely play area for kids.
Central Croyde location.

Disliked Play area could do with a bit more maintenance.
Shop doesn’t have a great selection.
The fish and chip shop/ pizzeria quite limited opening.
Would have liked to have been able to choose my pitch and we were allocated a pitch right next to two others despite there being plenty of free pitches.
No log fires seems a little strict when this is allowed on other campsites

Local attractions

Croyde beach is probably best known for its excellent surfing, but there’s plenty more here, including rockpooling, fishing and beach volleyball – as well as plenty of sand for sandcastle building or picnics. And it's far from the only beach around, so you may also like to plan outings to places like Putsborough beach (five minutes' drive), Saunton Sands (10 minutes) or Ilfracombe (20 minutes). You’ll also need to make your way to Ilfracombe if you'd like to take a boat trip to Lundy to see the puffins and seals. The island has some great walking trails too – and of course walkers can also take some lovely seaside strolls along the South West Coast Path back on the mainland. For family days out, this area has plenty to choose from – places like the BIG Sheep and Exmoor Zoo (both 35 minutes) are popular with animal-mad kids, while The Milky Way Adventure Park and North Devon Wake Park (45 minutes) will appeal to the daredevils.
