Looking for somewhere to stay in the South West? Then pick a pitch slap-bang in the middle of Devon at North Beer Farm, a peaceful off-grid site that's right at the centre of the county. This mixed site has woodland areas, lush fields and wild-style pitches spread out in a spacious rural setting. There is also access to a river here, plus sweeping views over Dartmoor National Park to the south. North Beer farm is about a mile and a half from the small village of Spreyton, where there is a community-run shop, a popular local pub and a hairdresser's. The gravestone of the proverbial Uncle Tom Cobley is in the churchyard, which is also home to an oak tree that's widely held to be the centre point of Devon. In terms of facilities, you may find some seasonal produce for sale on site, but there are no toilets and showers here. Dogs are welcome, and pitching up here means you'll have permission to build campfires in the designated areas too.
