  • Peaceful dog-friendly site on the edge of the Exmoor National Park
  • A 10-minute drive to Combe Martin's beaches and Exmoor Zoo
  • 15 acres of grounds; firepits available; dog-friendly pub nearby
From cliffs and combes to dazzling sandy coves… charter new territories from Long Moor Farm Camping. On the edge of Exmoor National Park and 10 minutes’ drive from the sandy Combe Martin beaches, this dog-friendly site opens the door to a long list of Devon adventures, from cliff railways to bubbling surf and family-friendly zoos and wildlife parks. If you need to keep warm, hire a firepit and make the most of the starry skies (no generators allowed on site, please). This site is all geared up for wild camping with a basic amenities block, hot showers and dishwashing area, and sloping countryside on all sides. If you fancy a stretch of your legs first thing in the morning, take a wander around the site's 15 acres of grounds. Based 10 minutes’ drive outside of Combe Martin, this site is well-positioned for fishing down at the bay or hiring a paddleboard or kayak for waves further out. If the scent of fish and chips is calling your name, try out the local seafood in one of the restaurants in the harbour. And when you fancy just a small snack or something to take back with you, there are plenty of shops and ice cream parlours in the town. Heading out for food straight from the site? There are several pubs including a dog-friendly inn on the old Lynton to Barnstaple railway, within five minutes’ drive of the site (and a cider and farm shop within walking distance too).

What customers say

This well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches and a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors consistently praise the exceptionally clean and well-equipped facilities, particularly the powerful, hot showers. The on-site honesty shop is a highly appreciated convenience. Staff, especially owner Rocky, are frequently mentioned as friendly, helpful, and attentive. While generally quiet, some groups experienced noise. Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We were looking for a “back to basics” camping trip. But we were very impressed with the facilities and honesty shop that provided everything we needed. Also, having a giant slip and slide on site was so much entertainment for the kids, and great value for money.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Good location. Spacious site. Friendly owner. Plenty of toilets and showers. Showers had hot water, plenty of pressure and more than enough room to swing a cat (all very rare things for campsite showers!)

Disliked The facilities, although lovely, were hardly ever cleaned, it appeared, and were often absolutely filthy. Sadly there were some families who let their very young children roam about the facilities unsupervised. They made quite a lot of mess, which made the lack of regular cleaning even worse.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The space was amazing on the campsite itself. The facilities (especially the showers) were super clean and we liked the vibe of the layout of the showers ,toilets and communal sink area. The honesty hut is a great touch and super handful for those bits you may have forgotten. Overall a great and effective campsite that is cost effective and cheerful. Would definitely stay here again. Overall a lovely night stay , with super friendly staff and a great campsite environment.

Disliked Could introduce a quiet rule from 11pm onwards. Thinking of the families that stay etc

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely to be able to pitch wherever you like and generous plot sizes. Lovely hot showers and facilities albeit basic.

You had access to benches and fire pit (first come, first served basis) which was great and the honesty shop was always well stocked and wood always available.

The dog walking field was a great hit with my one year old pup and she loved the freedom of having so much land to run around.

The slip and slide was good, running 1-4pm daily whatever the weather at £5 per person.

Not far from combe martin which was a beautiful place with stunning beaches (with one dog friendly section where they could be off lead) but no shops/pubs/cafe etc within walking distance.

Very laid back feel to the site and rocky available as and when needed.

Disliked As the site was our base for the whole 9 days of our family holiday, it was a surprise to see quite a few work vans were coming in and out which took away that 'holiday feel'.

We experienced no issues with those onsite, however it did change the vibe once they arrived.

No wifi available although no real issue for us.

Would be good to have a 'hut' near the shop that had a book library and leaflets with local 'things to do'.

Local attractions

You may spot plenty of interesting creatures in the bays and along the coastal paths, but if you’re looking for something a little on the wilder side, Exmoor Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) has hordes of beasts, reptiles and birds in their enclosures. There are more wild animals housed at the Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (five minutes), as well as some pretty impressive life-sized dinosaur figures and trails. It may seem tricky to keep away from the coast and all its activities. Tackle the huge hill at Lynton and Lynmouth (20 minutes) on foot or take the cute cliff railway to the top and work your way through its woodlands and gorges footpaths. And once you’ve visited the cliffside of the Valley of Rocks (20 minutes), head towards Woolacombe (20 minutes) for a sandy stretch that's said to be one of the best in country. After a little dive into old times? Arlington Court (10 minutes) is a grand National Trust property with a carriage museum and gardens. There’s another National Trust property at Watersmeet House (25 minutes), surrounded by ancient woodlands, gorges and rivers for canoeing. And how about a family theme park inside a castle? You’ll find this unusual attraction at Watermouth Castle (15 minutes).
