Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: We booked last minute and were really happy with our choice. It was our first time camping together and we had a lovely time. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless and the couple that greeted us at reception were really lovely. The campsite was really peaceful and well kept, thank you for a lovely time!

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Lovely clean quiet site in a great spot. Facilities were spotless. Short walk through nature reserve to the village pub which is well worth a visit. Nice walk into Bovey Tracey up quiet country lanes. Just be careful if you want to get the bus back as not all buses go to the village so we had a long wait. In local area The House of marbles is well worth a visit and is free. Camp shop has all the essentials and a few gifty bits. There was a fish and chip van one evening and a coffee van one morning while we were there which was nice. The guys running it are brilliant, friendly and very helpful. We had a few issues while we were there (broken Vans and poorly teeth) and they couldn't have been more helpful. Just sorry we had to cut our stay short.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful site - very relaxing in lovely countryside. The facilities are excellent, very clean and well looked after. A variety of food vendors visited the site whilst we were there - it was lovely not to cook! We really enjoyed our stay and the owners are very welcoming and other campers were delightful!

Disliked: Nothing

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: Spacious level pitches, clean toilet facilities, very quiet environment

Disliked: Electric hook-ups should be labelled with pitch number as when we arrived ours was in use by adjacent pitch who had to then move their motorhome to be able to connect - they were nice about it but incident made us feel uncomfortable, the following day the same thing happened to a pitch in front of us.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: Peaceful , friendly , respectful , the couple who run the site cannot do enough to help you. I certainly would recommend it to anyone who visits Devon. I had a problem with my leaking tap in the caravan , asked if there was anywhere local I could get it repaired and within a few hours a mobile caravan repair man arrived fitted my new tap and all at a reasonable price. Couldn’t thank them all enough.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Very peaceful and well maintained site. The couple that own and run it are extremely welcoming and friendly. They work very hard to keep everything immaculate. Pleasant walk to a great pub that served us a very reasonably priced and delicious Sunday roast. Great little shop on site serving a variety of essentials and local craft beers ciders and gins. Would recommend for a quiet and relaxing break.

Disliked: Nothing. Everything was great 👍

Local attractions

It really is all about the rambles from this site… the traditional Devonshire village of Hennock, sitting 800 feet above the Teign valley, is under 10 minutes’ drive for treks around the Trenchford, Tottiford and Kennick reservoirs (plus plenty of pubs) while Stover Park’s 114 acres of woodland, heathland, grassland, lake and marsh is five minutes south next to a golf course. The traffic-free Stover Trail passes through here and links the historic town of Bovey Tracey with Newton Abbot; if you’re riding a bike, stop off at the cycle-friendly café in the former, which has indoor parking (about a 20-minute journey on two wheels). Also near this spot is the Dartmoor Whisky Distillery if you’re curious about checking out what Devonshire-made booze tastes like. For long journeys on foot or the saddle, The Templar Way starts off at Teigngrace (10 minutes’ drive), coming close to Oakmoor Touring Park and stretching on for around 18 miles towards rocky Hay Tor on Dartmoor.
