  • Small dog-friendly site close to the North Devon/Cornwall border
  • Half an hour's drive from Bude beaches; bus connection to Bude nearby
  • Walk to shop and pub serving home-cooked meals including breakfast
If you can’t quite decide whether you fancy a trip to Devon or one to Cornwall, Crescent Camping is on hand to sort that dilemma for you… This small family-friendly campsite is just outside the village of Beaworthy, in a handy location right on the border between the two coastal counties. From here you’ll be able to dip in and out of the best attractions of both counties – it’s well placed for the north coasts, for hikes around Dartmoor National Park, for walks and bike rides on the Ruby Way or Granite Way, and for all sorts of other activities including horse riding, fishing and watersports. You'll also be in a good position to drive or catch the bus to the beaches of Bude. Everyday amenities are equally handy: local shops are within walking distance, as is a pub serving home-cooked meals and breakfasts. The nearby villages Bratton Clovelly, Hatherleigh and North Lew have more pubs to explore – although you’re equally welcome to stoke up a barbecue or campfire on site for some outdoor cooking. Simple and laidback are the key words here. Facilities stretch to bathrooms only, but they’ve been nicely done, in a clean modern heated block with a hot shower that’s just the thing after days of hiking or surfing. Please note that cars are not allowed on the grass, but there's a hardstanding parking area about 25 metres from the pitches.

Crescent Camping non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Small, quiet site and friendly welcome. Basic unisex facilities but very clean and modern feel.

Disliked: The only thing was the dusty gravel, which did make many things dirty if you had to put things on the floor whilst packing away.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Small camping field with a clean, small toilet and shower cubicle. Maggie was absolutely lovely and it was perfect for a cheap, quiet weekend away. Good location too, perfect for making trips into both Devon and Cornwall.

Disliked: Our only downside was nightmare neighbours (which I am aware we were just unlucky - and aside of this our stay would of been perfect) but in future I would like to visit a campsite that has a few more rules (such as quiet after a certain time) Purely because rowdy people coming back after midnight and pinging a microwave 20+ times until 2am, wasn’t ideal with two small children. The only other thing to be aware of was a lack of parking facility (which was fine for us with 1 small car when it wasn’t too busy) and that you can’t park in the field next to your tent - again great for children's safety so I’m not complaining just so people are aware.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful site. Very lovely and accomodating owner (Maggie). My girls adored her and Maggie even let them help her water her garden :) She was very patient with two busy children! Well maintained and clean toilet/shower block. Peaceful with beautiful scenery and gorgeous setting for star gazing. We would highly recommend this site but also don't want to as to keep it to ourselves!! We will be returning and loved our stay!

Disliked: Nothing to dislike!
