Liked: We always have a wonderful stay at this peaceful, spacious site! All pitches have wonderful countryside views. There are lovely clean, warm showers. Owners make us feel very welcome. Well placed to enjoy all of beaches - just a short drive from Saunton and Westard ho to name a few. Will definitely be returning!

Local attractions

Once you've tried a trip to the Jack Russell, head into Barnstaple to find a few more pubs, plenty of shops and restaurants, and family activities including bowling, go-karting and an indoor play centre. A mile away from site, you could also visit The Castle Inn, which your hosts recommend for its excellent food. You can hire bikes in town to explore the Tarka Trail cycle route, running from Barnstaple to Exeter on one of the country's longest traffic-free bike and walking paths, or stick around into the evening to catch a show at the Queen’s Theatre. Strange structures including a giant stiletto shoe can be seen six miles away at the Broomhill Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden, and vintage conveyances at the Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum within 10 miles. If it's animals you're after, Exmoor Zoo is 12 miles away. Access heaps of walking and cycle trails as well as other activities including horse riding, fishing, canoeing, climbing and sea kayaking at Exmoor National Park, also 12 miles away, or travel 15 miles to the fab beaches, excellent surfing and surf schools of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe.
