General
- Comfy static caravan at the peaceful River Valley Country Park
- A five-minute drive from Marazion and St Michael's Mount
- Both north and south coasts within a 15-minute drive
Can’t decide between Cornwall’s north and south coasts? (Fair enough, they are both very splendid on the scenery, beaches and attractions front…) Problem solved at Holidays in Cornwall, a peaceful rural spot at River Valley Country Park, on the banks of the Hayle river around 15 minutes’ drive from Penzance.
Head north from here and you can be up in St Ives, Carbis Bay or Godrevy within a 20-minute drive. Point wheels south instead to get to Marazion and St Michael’s Mount in about five minutes, or continue on to Praa Sands, Porthleven and the Lizard Peninsula (you may also like to consider outings to Flambards Theme Park, the Minack Theatre and Land’s End – none is further than half an hour away).
Stays at this handy park are in a well-equipped cosy two-bedroom caravan, with a deck for sitting out amid a peaceful 23 acres of surrounding countryside in a quiet wooded valley. There’s a spacious fully-fitted kitchen within the caravan for prepping eats and drinks to consume on the deck (or at the dining table); if you’d rather head out to have someone else do the honours there are a couple of good pubs within a five-minute drive.

Local attractions
With Marazion (five minutes’ drive) so close to the site, there's a lot to get stuck into with just a short car journey, whether that's paddleboarding with views of the mount or yoga on the sandy beach. Take a boat or go out over the causeway to see the historic castle and island community up close - picnics on the lawn of St Michael’s Mount (five minutes) are particularly special.
At Land’s End (half an hour), you could hire a bicycle, shop until you drop in the shopping village or look around a farmstead that’s 200 years old. In St Ives (20 minutes), there are art galleries to browse instead… or a beach day on hand, if you’re not already preoccupied with catching waves on Perranuthnoe beach (10 minutes) and Praa Sands (10 minutes) or snorkelling around Prussia Cove (10 minutes).
Those of you with the whole family to entertain might want to pick and choose from other sources of entertainment… perhaps catching a show at the open-air Minack Theatre (half an hour), bombing down the rides at Flambards Theme Park (20 minutes) or head over to Paradise Park and JungleBarn (10 minutes) to see the animals and unwind in the soft play.
