  • Well-maintained pitches five minutes’ walk from Porthleven, Cornwall
  • A 10-minute drive to Flambards Theme Park; 15 minutes to Marazion
  • On-site pub; five minutes’ walk to the beach and South West Coast Path
A family-run touring caravan and campsite located about 500 meters from the centre of the historic fishing village of Porthleven, Mill Lane Campsite is a dog-friendly spot with generous-sized, level pitches and plenty of space for all the family. The campsite is a five-minute walk from Porthleven beach, famous as one of Cornwall’s best reef breaks (are you listening, surfers?). It’s also five minutes to the South West Coast Path, making this a great base for long-distance hikers too. Porthleven village hosts the award-winning Food Festival in July, but you can eat in quirky cafes, traditional pubs or fine-dining restaurants – all serving fresh, seasonal food – any time of year. Pick up foodie supplies in the local shops – including delicious Cornish pasties – and there’s a handy supermarket too. And there’s no need to fret about keeping everyone entertained in the evenings. The on-site free house sells the world-famous Cornish ale Spingo, brewed in Helston (10 minutes’ drive), so adults are never far away from a refreshment. For the kids, there’s a pool table in the pub, as well as sport on the big screen and live music throughout the year. Bingo fans can play every Friday evening at 7pm with cash prizes.

What customers say

This campsite is praised for its excellent location, just a short, flat walk to Porthleven harbour, shops, and restaurants. Visitors highlight clean and hot shower facilities, friendly staff, and well-maintained, spacious pitches. The on-site pub is a popular bonus. While most reviews are positive, some note that facilities are dated and could benefit from an upgrade. A few mention noise from the nearby road or pub, and occasional issues with muddy pitches during wet weather.

Liked Good size pitch, close to beautiful town with a lovely beach all within 20 mins brisk walk, pub on site gets quite lively and very good fun, showers were ok, although my partner said hers was lacking in power.well stocked supermarket within 10 min walk, with Good places to eat, great open field / park for children to play in.

Disliked Honesty can't fault it for £35 a night

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Easy walk to Porthleven

Disliked Terribly overpriced on PitchUp. Facilities for men are particularly dire, shared with pub which get progressively worse during an evening. Site itself is really a glorified car park, so much more could be done to make this park a nicer place to stay.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Location was very good. Wishing walking distance of the town centre.

Disliked Site looked a bit tired and un-cared for. Grass needed cutting and bins seemed to be full most of the time.

Didn’t see any staff from arrival to departure.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Location was perfect, short walk to the harbour (10 mins max). The campsite had everything we needed, a pub on site full of lovely locals as well as other campers. We played cash bingo on a Friday night, such good fun. Toilet blocks and showers were both fine. We met quite a few four legged friends too. The pub doesn't serve food but allows food to be brought in/delivered. Really enjoyed our time here in Portleven. Simply gorgeous.

Disliked Only think that springs to mind is, no small sinks within the shower cubicles, there are however small sinks in the toilets.

Local attractions

If you’re keen to get out on the water, Porthleven beach (five minutes’ walk) is a fantastic surfing spot, and you can take coastal cruises (try one at dusk for spectacular sunset views) or sea-fishing trips from Porthleven harbour (10 minutes). Meanwhile, at Marazion (15 minutes’ drive) it’s a short hop across the bay to the crag-top castle and gardens at Mount St Michael. Kids will clamour to get on the coasters and flumes at Flambards Theme Park (10 minutes), or splash in the sea at sheltered Gunwalloe Church Cove Beach. There are plenty of family hikes along the Lizard Heritage Coast (both 20 minutes) and lots of seabirds for the kids to spot along the way. And there’s masses of art and culture in these parts too; the galleries and museums of St Ives (30 minutes) warrant a day’s attention, and there are rare plants and wacky artworks to be seen in Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (20 minutes).
