Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Such a lovely location, 15-20 min walk to the beach and overlooking the sea. This was our first time camping (complete novices) and we had such a lovely weekend, would definitely return. Clean facilities, quiet and relaxing:) we were also lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunset.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful views, super quiet as only 20 pitches and all in a line so you’re not surrounded. Very clean facilities - probably some of the cleanest we’ve ever seen in all our time camping. Nice covered eating and washing up spaces to get out of the wind or rain. Friendly owner and toddler loved seeing the cows. Recommended !

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Michelle and Paul look after you like you would experience staying at a 5* hotel. All facilities are spotless and all the needs of a few nights away camping are catered for. We were able to choose our pitch, it was mostly flat and a generous size. All this and one of the most fantastic views we have found from any campsite in Cornwall, we keep coming back, what more do you want!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Quiet small campsite, single row of 21 large pitches with a fantastic coastal view. Facilities where great and very clean. Simple entry and pitch selection too. It is off a small single track lane which is fairly accessible for the majority of vehicles but longer ones may find the passing areas a bit small. There is also a very narrow and steep "road" down the hill directly into town for those that are confident enough to drive, otherwise a nice a walk down into town. In the town the pub (Inn on the shore) offers another great view on the deck with delicious food or across the road is a fusion tapas bar (bewshea's by the beach) which served the best food we had eaten that week.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Really loved this campsite. Choose your own pitch style was appreciated and the ground was very flat and well kept. Beautiful views to enjoy (when not super foggy - but of course not the owners fault) bathrooms were well stocked with loo roll and paper towels/ soap for hand washing) We didn’t get a chance to buy any (due to not having any cash on us) but the fresh farm eggs looked really good quality and a great price (6 for £1.50) and there was also a communal fridge and freezer as well as chargeable phone charging lockers if needed. Owner was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations for local spots to sightsee. Couldn’t have asked for more and we will be looking to come back very soon!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Can't complain! The site was quiet, very reasonably priced, in a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean, toilets and showers were clean, and to top it off the owner Paul was always on hand to chat, help, advise, and assist in any way he could. As the pitches are in a long line at the top of the field, you have the whole field to enjoy! Quiet time from 10pm so no loud campers which was great for us. Loved our experience at Trewall Farm Campsite!

Disliked: As the site is on top of a coastal hill, you are well and truly at the mercy of the elements - which is great if the weather is good. We had times of strong winds and rain - so if this is forecast I would recommend a wind break and facing your tent entrance away from the sea.

Local attractions

Things might seem easygoing so far, but there’s just the place nearby to raise the stakes. Adrenalin Quarry (15 minutes’ drive) lives up to its name, thanks to its aqua park, go-karting circuit and 490-metre zipwire (that’s if you have the courage to take the leap from the 50-metre cliff). Segways are the sport of choice at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park (half an hour). This historic park by the sea has more than just coastal views: it’s also an estate with activities from survival courses to archery, watersports and circus skills (stilts, anyone?). For the animal world, some fur (or feather) therapy takes place at Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary (half an hour). There’s the opportunity to be a keeper for a day both here and at Wild Futures (15 minutes), a local monkey sanctuary. Rainforest biomes are the territory for a whole load of tropical plants and that’s the tune at Eden Project (45 minutes). Polperro (half an hour) is along the coast in the same direction, so perhaps you’ll want to pair your trip there with a visit to the large fishing village, where walks, beaches and fishing trips are rife.
