  • Adults-only field on a working family farm in rural mid Cornwall
  • South coast 15 minutes’ drive; north coast half an hour
  • Dogs welcome; fresh farm eggs to buy and breakfast hampers to order
If Cornwall’s been calling your name, and its lush green countryside is where you want to base yourself, consider your plans sorted. Pennans Farm is an adults-only site on a working family farm in rural Mid Cornwall, 15 minutes’ drive from the south coast (including the South West Coast Path and locations like the fishing village Mevagissey) and half an hour from the north coast (including Newquay). This is a typical countryside stay, in the sense that the spacious pitches are in a field on the farm. It’s a quiet, peaceful sort of setting with no bright lights – that means dark skies for your stargazing hours – and fresh eggs available daily for your barbecue. Order in advance, and you could also have a breakfast hamper ready to tuck into before you hightail it to the local beaches. What else do you need to know? A pub and village shop are five minutes’ drive away, in Grampound. Truro, Cornwall’s cathedral city, is a 20-minute drive west. Oh, and dogs are welcome, so don’t worry about leaving them behind.
